Zoe Lay (she/her)
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

I hope to be the voice for my fellow Campbell house friends. I hope to bring together international students and the local students to form a safe and comfortable co-living space that everyone can call their home.

I wish to form a closer knit connection between East and West by putting on different fun and engaging activities. Some ideas of mine were interhouse competitions, picnics and more.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

As I speak German, French, English and a little bit of Spanish I can be a big help in terms of communication between international and home students. I myself am an international student but because I have lived in the UK for a while I like to think I have an extensive understanding of many cultures, which is an important quality of a Hall Officer. Previous leadership/representative roles of mine were teaching Ballet at a primary school and being my school's Art department student representative.

Additionally I am a creative person with good time-management who doesn't shy away from pressure.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

I am a very optimistic and energetic person who will put in the work to make Campbell House a home for everyone!

I am looking forwards to make Campbell House a more lively place where us students can get a break from studying and socialise and relax with their friends. I am organised, creative and welcoming. As an international student I know what it means to be away from home and wish to make Campbells second home for everyone.

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

I am genuinely thrilled to take on the role of Campbell House Hall's representative. My vision is to nurture a strong sense of community, wholeheartedly address students' needs, and foster a welcoming, inclusive environment.

After two years of living in Campbell House East, I've gained valuable insights into the improvements that can create a more supportive and harmonious living environment. For example, my unwavering commitment to addressing concerns like the removal of CircuitLaundry is just one facet of my election manifesto, always with a focus on the well-being of every resident.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

As a second-year student, I've had the privilege of living in Campbell House East for two consecutive years, which has given me valuable insights into potential improvements.

Before starting UCL, I worked in the fashion industry, where I made challenging decisions and implemented systems to support my team. I'm no stranger to hard work, especially when it benefits my colleagues.

I am well-prepared and qualified for the opportunity to represent my fellow peers and bring about positive changes at Campbell House. Most importantly, I'm excited about the chance to enhance the Campbell community!

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

I'm dedicated to making your university hall experience truly unforgettable. As a fellow student, I share your journey and understand your needs. I'm here to address your concerns, improve facilities, and nurture a close-knit community. My aim is to create a year that leaves a lasting impact.

This isn't just about your support; it's about you allowing me to enhance your university experience. Together, we can cultivate an atmosphere of warmth, support, and lasting bonds. I hope you share the excitement for the exceptional community we'll build and the enduring memories we will create.
