What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I am a 3rd year student, studying Engineering and Architectural Design (MEng) at the Bartlett. Having been the Faculty of the Built Environment UG Rep last year as well, I think the most important quality I bring to this role is my experience. In addition to that, having held committee positions in the Society of Engineering and Architectural Design(SEAD) as well as having been academic rep for two consecutive years, I'm well acquainted with planning and organising events.I'm extremely approachable and you can come up to me at the Bartlett or contact me via email about any concerns you may have

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

I intend to bridge the gap between the various courses in the Faculty of the Built Environment. I have experienced in the past that mainly students belonging to the same course as the Faculty Rep are able to voice their concerns freely. To counter this problem, I aim to be available via zoom (and occasionally in person at the Bartlett) every week to all students, for them to voice their concerns, opinions, and suggestions which I would bring up at the appropriate meetings.I also intend to help create a stronger network between the different courses under the faculty through socials and events.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

To summarise, I aim to use my key qualities of experience and approachability to create an ideal experience for the students I will represent as faculty rep. I vow to be a serviceable means of communication between the students and the Faculty and tackle all concerns with due diligence and empathy. In addition, I also aim to work towards intra-faculty student integration by organizing socials and events that help facilitate networking.

Arsh Singh Bhasin
What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

Leading as Student Rep for the past two years has enabled me to develop strong relationships within The Bartlett and outside. I have developed my communication, leadership and team-player skills through being the ‘reference point’ for students and professors within my course. To gain the most from university - relationships are the focal point. The most significant quality I will bring to the post is transparency and honesty. Being a people’s person, positions me to regularly check up on students and help to portray students’ suggestions/criticisms to relevant leadership teams.

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

I hope to establish stronger relationships with other departments in UCL. This will include organising socials, networking events, sporting events. Some concerns of students, during my time as Student Rep, included the hope cross departmental engagement would be strengthened. I will act upon this. Also, I would like to organise a termly Awards Night to celebrate students’ achievement more regularly. This will act as a tool to inspire (new) students to push themselves. Hopefully, as a result, students will grasp more opportunities, unravelling new layers of their personality along the way.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

Possessing good organisational and communication skills, my primary goal is to support students with their busy individual schedule. Students will feel a level of comfort having a hard-working leader delivering information concisely to them. Students should feel comfortable texting/calling/organising a meet to discuss any matters (for example, personal problems or the urge to change something within the department). We all have limited time in University - I hope to act efficiently upon the suggestions students have to maximise laughter, hard work and the feeling of community.

Clara Obeid
What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

Having been the Bartlett faculty rep the precedent year and my year academic rep within my course, I believe I have gained valuable experience enabling me to fulfill the responsibilities of this role. I am comfortable in addressing the students’ concerns and demands to the academic board. I have organized multiple events at the Bartlett aiming to bring students together, giving them a space to interact. I have also undertaken the role of Resident Advisor within UOL, which strengthened my social, listening and communication skills as well as my empathy and understanding of others’ concerns.

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

I hope to organise more events promoting a sense of community within the Bartlett. To ensure the students’ voice is heard and that change is promoted when needed. I hope to ensure communications are clear between the students, their committees, and the faculty.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

I hope that with the knowledge gained, I can further improve my performance in this position and ensure that we, as students, are proactive about our needs from the very beginning of the year. I enjoy helping others as much as possible, socializing and getting to know new students, which makes me easy to approach and talk to. I believe this is a powerful tool to create change, as this can only be achieved together. I hope to be given the opportunity to create a better sense of community, make sure every student is fulfilling their highest potential, in an environment that supports them.

Akif Rahman
What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I am a good communicator ensuring a good link between staff and student, I am also a good problem solver, and can find quick and creative solutions. I have had experiences as head boy during sixth form as well as job roles like supervisors, both of which required good organisational skills and decision making.

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

I hope to contribute to positive change at the Bartlett, but I also would hope to be a better support to students by being student rep  and voice their needs to the higher ups.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

Over the past year, I have become close to my entire year and I would think a positive force within it. I am a person that you can trust, who will listen to you and have you as their biggest priority as student rep.
