Alice Cronin

Hey, I’m Alice! I’m a first year Geography student, self-confessed foodie and I’m nominating myself for the role of President of Vegsoc. I’ve been vegetarian for over 10 years, it was a New Year’s resolution I made when I was 8 and it’s still going strong! In that time, I have discovered exciting veggie and vegan spots and made so many meals and sweet treats, using lockdown as an opportunity to develop my cooking and baking skills. Now living in London, my venture for veggie and vegan spots is in full swing, especially with the help of Vegsoc, the Tofu Vegan meal is still living rent free in my head!

I would be an ideal candidate for the role of President, organising and planning relaxed events where plant-powered people (and our friends!) can bond over shared lifestyles and good food. I’ve enjoyed Vegsoc’s local crawls, so I would love to continue them and potentially host these in places further afield. Other events that I would be interested in planning is nominating a few places to go and having members vote, perhaps going somewhere as a society once a month or term. I would also like to have the opportunity to collaborate with other societies, and potentially other universities, for fun activities as well as some educational and informative events, such as having guest speakers.

Looking forward to more events with Vegsoc!
