Mmeso Mba

Global health inequality has always touched me deeply, especially when visiting countries with clear healthcare disadvantages. I have always wanted to be able to understand what causes this and find ways to make an impact. Finding this society this year has been really inspiring as everyone has a passion for tackling health inequality in the world. There are opportunities to learn more about how to make a difference and how others are doing so in their career.

I believe that this role as Campaign Lead would be the perfect opportunity to make an impact in my time in this society. It is a role where you can raise awareness and make a real impact in issues surrounding health inequality. I feel as though the role would also help me gain multiple perspectives on a variety of issues people wish to speak up on. As Campaign Lead, I believe that I would be able to develop my communication skills which are very valuable if I wish to continue to make a difference in the world of global health. Observing a surgeon with a reconstructive surgery practice in low-income countries, I gained a deep understanding of the importance of awareness of the differences in health in the world, and a necessity for action. This role seems like the perfect way to combine the two.
