We are the UCL branch of the national network Students for Global Health which campaigns on global health and international development issues. Established in 1999, we tackle a range of global and local inequalities through education, advocacy and community action. We believe in the butterfly effect of change and how it begins with ourselves in our communities. Our vision of ‘a fair and just world in which equity in health is a reality for all’ drives our campaigns and is the end goal for all global health scholars. We are a very active society, running regular weekly events, learning, training and career opportunities, as well as student-society interactions (in person and online) through our blog, website, and social media pages.
We have several active campaigns in the areas of gender, access to medicines, environment, and war and conflict. These inspire our events’ and their themes ranging from panel debates to all-day conferences, volunteering to society trips. We are an open and inclusive group, welcoming members from all degree programs and levels of expertise.
