Hi! I’m Rania, a second-year Arts and Sciences student and I’m running to be treasurer for the upcoming academic year. I’ve been on Stage Crew committee for 2 years, have been lead crew on 10 shows, and have overall spent way too much time in the theatre. I’m familiar with the bureaucracy of the Union, not afraid to write a firmly worded email or two, and good with deadlines. As a sciences pathway, I spend a lot of time with numbers and can manage our money. From my time as Studio Theatre Officer, I have a good working relationship with other arts societies and have a deep appreciation of a good spreadsheet. From my hours at Parcelforce Warehouse and waiting for a hire pickup in the Blooms Cafe, I can wade through the bureaucratic waters and liaison effectively with hire companies.

As Treasurer, I’ll:

  • work with CSMs and the BTO in order to get hires in on time and processed, as well as welfare snack/purchase reimbursements
  • engage and support members who need financial assistance using the Participation Fund
  • work with the Equipment Officer in applying for grants for new equipment that will benefit our society
  • be as present as I can be in the Blooms/Studio/socials/pub as a more experienced member of Stage Crew, being a friendly face to newcomers and experienced people alike

Thank you for considering me! <3

I am running for Treasurer for the Taekwondo Society because I want to contribute to the club’s growth. Although having no experience as a treasurer, I am comfortable taking on responsibility and being accountable, and I make sure I follow through on what I commit to. If elected, I would prioritize transparency so everyone feels confident about where their money is going. I understand that membership and competition fees can add up, so I’d work to keep costs as accessible and affordable as possible, while still investing wisely in resources that benefit the team. Overall, I want to help the society stay financially responsible while continuing to grow and enjoy competitions and events!!
