Squash is an exciting and fast paced sport and I would like to ensure this energy, competitiveness and community spirit are visible both within the club and across the wider university. I would love to serve as Media Officer as it combine creativity, organisation and communication. My goal would be to create a welcoming, engaging and consistent online prescence that highlights team achievements, celebrates members and attracts new players. Social media is often the first interaction students have with a sports club and a strong platform makes a huge difference in building participation. I would focus on consistent, high-quality content with clear weekly structure including result graphics and "player spotlights". As president of my school's anatomy society, I managed the instagram page, posting updates and promoting events. I also lead and produced our school's science magazine, coordinating content and contributing to design, developing my organisation, communication and visual design skills.

Anuva Nijhawan

I am standing for the role of Media Officer as even though I only recently joined through social squash, I felt genuinely welcomed straight away. It never felt intimidating, and that first impression made a big difference. I would love to help create that same experience for new members coming in and I believe social media is a big part of that!

The Instagram page is often the first thing people look at before showing up (especially during freshers week and taster days!) and it helps everyone stay connected once they are involved. I would want the club's social media to reflect the friendly, relaxed atmosphere that makes the club easy to join and fun to be part of.

I have previous experience running social media accounts, so I understand the importance of consistency, engagement, and posting regularly. I’m comfortable creating content, planning posts, and keeping media organised behind the scenes. I would focus on sharing match results and highlights, weekly schedules, and socials in a way that is professional but still reflects the club's personality. I like keeping posts clean and consistent, with simple, recognisable formats that make information easy to find without overdoing it.

I am organised, creative, and reliable, and I would work closely with the rest of the committee to make sure communication is clear and coordinated. Most importantly, I care about the welcoming environment I have experienced so far, and I would love to help show that to others with your support!
