I would like to stand for the role of Welfare Officer within the Cricket Club because I want to help balance the competitive ambitions of the club with a strong, supportive environment where every member has a voice to be heard.

Through my experience leading volunteering initiatives and student bodies, I have developed the ability to support teams effectively and approach challenges in a calm, fair, and objective manner, qualities I aim to bring to this role. University cricket can be rather demanding on a mental as well as a physical level hence I believe a visible, approachable Welfare Officer is essential in ensuring that everyone can perform at their peak whilst maintaining their wellbeing.

I hope to build on the positive culture already present within the club, backing this up with fresh energy and ideas to further strengthen team cohesion. I aim to be an accessible point of contact for all members, showcasing my availability should anyone require a quick drop in session, whether about cricket or even their university experience as a whole.

I am particularly keen to support first-year players as they transition into university sport, helping them integrate into the squad and maintain a healthy balance in what can be a high-pressure environment.

Overall, I want to take an active and reliable role in supporting the club, promoting wellbeing alongside performance, and helping ensure continued success both on and off the pitch.
