Hi, I’m Tienne, and I’m eager to become the president of the UCL Cancer Charity Alliance. As the current Academic Course Representative for the Year 1 Cancer Biomedicine cohort, I hope to bring my passion and commitment to the Cancer Charity Alliance and reinvigorate this society into a dynamic space where every student, regardless of their degree, can participate in making a tangible impact in the fight against cancer through more meaningful initiatives. Since high school, I have had the privilege of collaborating closely with various cancer charities, and by strengthening our collaboration with cancer charities, I am confident we can elevate the impact our initiatives, and I wish to encourage more people to take part in different Cancer UK fundraising events, such as two running challenges I recently completed in February to raise awareness and funds for cancer patients. Additionally, I plan to reintroduce more fundraising events like bake sales and cancer awareness campaigns, expanding our presence within the UCL community. I also intend to revive and enhance our Internship Panels to better guide members toward careers in cancer research while fostering a supportive environment that connects all students who share a common interest in this field. Additionally, I want to organise more social and fundraising events to strengthen the connections among our members. I am beyond excited to turn more of our ideas into impactful changes for our society and for cancer patients.
