Since starting at UCL this year, I’ve been involved in 13 productions both at and away from Blooms, taking leading roles in cast, crew, and production teams. My work both onstage and backstage has given me a well-rounded understanding of the community & infrastructure of ArtsUCL and what it needs to grow, an insight I’ve deepened through committee roles as Tech Officer for Live Music Society and Freshers’ Rep for Stagecrew. My extensive experience across multiple areas of the Arts along with a proactive approach will allow me to represent you all effectively as an Arts Rep.
ArtsUCL has been such a nurturing environment for me from the get-go, and I’m really grateful for the opportunities and people it’s given me this year. As we continue to grow, I’d love to help ensure it remains a supportive and accessible space for everyone involved. Having experienced the Arts from multiple perspectives, I bring both a holistic understanding and a fresh perspective on how our infrastructure works, and would use my intersocietal connections to strengthen communication. I’d approach the role with genuine openness and commitment to ensure that every voice is heard <3.
Communication: With societies and members of ArtsUCL to ensure their voices are heard, and represent them accordingly.
Welcoming: Encouraging societies to make "newcomer handbooks" summarising how things work in the society.
Fringe: making it more inclusive by organising shows made up of smaller performances like 1 song or excerpts. Removing the pressure for bidders as its not a standalone thing.
Bidding: Encouraging societies to archive past bids making them accessible and to possibly have mock bid interviews to familiarise potential bidders with the process and foster the prod of ArtsUCL.
I am experienced as a cast member in shows such as Tick Tick Boom, and Spelling Bee; as a prod team member for the MT Concert of The Last 5 Years and MDing small performances for MT Galas; and as stage crew for Drama Soc's Pride Festival, providing me with the perspective of the different parties involved in the arts, and allows me to be accessible to people who wish to communicate their thoughts and opinions as I have a baseline understanding of what they encounter when carrying out their respective roles.
I also have decent time management which means I'll try my best to make time for all.
Being a part of ArtsUCL has been the highlight of my time at UCL and I wish to give back and ensure it is the same for other members of the community.
My continued involvement in arts societies also allows me talk to people from different areas of the community to get their thoughts and opinions on the issues faced by them during their time in ArtsUCL which I could hopefully address as the Arts Officer.
I want to make the arts community at UCL more visible, connected and supported. I’ll help people and arts societies to collaborate, share events and get their work seen and celebrated.
I am approachable, organised and genuinely care about creatives and arts societies. I am always up for a good chat about your ideas and your society’s next big plan. I bring experience in teamwork and event planning where everyone feels welcome and heard.
Vote for me if you want a Rep who listens, communicates and delivers. I’ll make sure the arts at UCL feel fun, fair and vibrant.
