Just a dude involved in the arts

Election post

Status
Elected
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

Communication: With societies and members of ArtsUCL to ensure their voices are heard, and represent them accordingly.

Welcoming: Encouraging societies to make "newcomer handbooks" summarising how things work in the society.

Fringe: making it more inclusive by organising shows made up of smaller performances like 1 song or excerpts. Removing the pressure for bidders as its not a standalone thing.

Bidding: Encouraging societies to archive past bids making them accessible and to possibly have mock bid interviews to familiarise potential bidders with the process and foster the prod of ArtsUCL.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I am experienced as a cast member in shows such as Tick Tick Boom, and Spelling Bee;  as a prod team member for the MT Concert of The Last 5 Years and MDing small performances for MT Galas; and as stage crew for Drama Soc's Pride Festival, providing me with the perspective of the different parties involved in the arts, and allows me to be accessible to people who wish to communicate their thoughts and opinions as I have a baseline understanding of what they encounter when carrying out their respective roles.

I also have decent time management which means I'll try my best to make time for all.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

Being a part of ArtsUCL has been the highlight of my time at UCL and I wish to give back and ensure it is the same for other members of the community.

My continued involvement in arts societies also allows me talk to people from different areas of the community to get their thoughts and opinions on the issues faced by them during their time in ArtsUCL which I could hopefully address as the Arts Officer.
