Having played tennis for a long time, the passion was always there, the skill on the other hand, not very much so. To channel this however, I am running for social sec and hoping to make a positive impact within the tennis community. I believe our shared love for the court and sport needs to be enhanced - it is without surprise our socials are sometimes uneventful, however this can be changed with a few tweaks by bringing the different groups closer together. With your trust, and the power of teamwork, all could be changed, fostering a better environment for us to enjoy each other and ourselves.

Euan Khurana

I’ve really enjoyed engaging in the social aspect of the tennis society over the past year. Events like the weekly socials and the Christmas ball have been fantastic opportunities to connect with amazing people within the society. These experiences have been incredibly memorable, and I’d love to give back by helping to organise these events next year as social secretary. I want to ensure that others have the chance to enjoy these experiences at the same high standard, creating lasting memories for everyone involved. With previous experience in leadership roles I believe I have the organisational and communication skills needed to be a social secretary for the club next year.

Sebastian Goodbody

Sebastian Goodbody

As a fresher, I have been a committed member of the UCL Tennis Society, and one of the most rewarding aspects of my experience has been the weekly socials and major society events like the Christmas Ball. These occasions have transformed complete strangers into close friends over the last six months. Regardless of tennis ability, social events provide the perfect opportunity for members to bond over our shared love for the sport.

If elected as Social Secretary, I will continue the fantastic legacy of our current Social Secretary, Addy, and those before him. My goal is to organize engaging that bring people together, ensuring that every member—whether they play competitively or just for fun—feels welcome and involved. Whether you enjoy drinking, watching football, or simply having conversations with friends, my socials will offer something for everyone. I understand the importance of fostering a strong sense of camaraderie within the society, and I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to this community.

Audrey Feeney

I think my 100% (-1) social attendance speaks for itself, I live for the tennis socials. As social secretary, I will make sure everyone wants to attend them by keeping up the good work that was done this year for Space Race and Christmas ball for example ! (And I’ll make nice insta stories ;)

Leonor Walryck

First of all, the fact that I’ve missed a maximum of two socials since the beginning of the year makes me a great candidate for the position of Tennis Social Secretary. (Not to mention my smile, my dancing talents that never fade, and my fine sense of humour.)

I won’t list my qualities any further, but those who know me also know that I’m always fully invested in tennis and that I will constantly be coming up with great ideas to make it the funniest and best society at UCL.

As a person, I love meeting new people, and as a fresher, I consider myself more capable than anyone of bringing a fresh taste to tennis socials. Having experienced LUSL this year and (hopefully) BUCS next year (when I’ll finally be old enough…), my wide range of UCL tennis experiences will help me engage with the diverse, friendly, and obviously motivated people who want to hit the ball and improve.

Maybe I ticked the wrong box and thought I was nominating myself for president—judging by the length of my message and the importance I’m giving to my (hopefully) future role as Social Sec.

But anyway, I hope this shows how motivated I am and gives you plenty of reasons to VOTE FOR ME!!

Léonor ;)

P.S. The reason my speech is this humble is because I’m French.

P.S2: I’m the girl with the moustache on the picture and wanna be a social sec with the other girl with the moustache
