I believe that the best feature of the UCL Swimming Club is that it offers something for everyone, and as President I want to ensure that it continues to do so. I’ve been involved with the Club since I started at UCL, and I’ve served as Men’s Captain for the past two years.

I’ve seen firsthand how the Club can both compete at the inter-university level and provide a great experience for someone just looking for a workout and a fun social atmosphere. It’s been a pleasure getting to know many of you at practice and events.

I believe that I can carry out the role of President for a few reasons.

  1. My love for the sport. This was my sixteenth year of competitive swimming, and more recently I have coached at my local club team. I know what it means to be at any stage of your journey in swimming.

  2. My committee experience. I have been a part of the committee for two years, helping with everything from pool bookings to merch orders. This has given me a clear appreciation for what is expected of the role, and I hope to follow the example of our current president Dori.

  3. My leadership skills. I was captain of my high school’s state-champion varsity swim team and varsity cross country teams, where I learned to lead practices and keep members motivated. I’ve also been Men’s Captain of this Club, organising practices and competitions.

I hope to have the chance to support you and the Club next year, and I want to be receptive to your concerns. Please reach out with any questions or suggestions.
