I’m committed to making UCL more sustainable as a Sustainability Officer or through climate societies and volunteering. But, this role gives me the credibility, resources, and opportunities needed for a much bigger impact.
Because let's be honest, creating change through an institution like UCL is far more impactful than individual steps. I want UCL to be responsible for the big reputation they hold! I bring realistic goals, hands-on experience, and approachable leadership. I'm ALWAYS contactable for ideas, concerns or discussions.
Your vote means a lot to me, but even more to a greener UCL.

I am currently a Sustainability Ambassador for UCL. In my role I created a digital guide to eating sustainably which has been circulated around UCL and can be a useful tool for tackling our personal emissions.
Beyond UCL, I have experience in advising a startup on their sustainability strategies and have volunteered with City Harvest to combat food waste and emissions in London.
Whilst the environment has always been my focus, this is just the start of my journey, as it is for many of you. As sustainability ambassador I want to create more opportunities for us all to live and work sustainably.
My plans to make UCL more sustainable are clear:
- No More Barclays: UCL must transfer banks and educate students on the environmental impacts of banking.
- Sustainable careers: While oil and gas firms fund society events, UCL's sustainable careers site is outdated. This is unacceptable. I will push for a newsletter covering sustainable opportunities.
- Facilities map: I will create a map of all facilities around UCL which support sustainable living (microwaves, water fountains, etc.)
- AI and its impacts: We must raise awareness of the environmental impacts of growing AI use across UCL.
I am proud to attend the most sustainable university in the UK, but there is still much to be done. Institutions like UCL are crucial in leading systemic change, and that requires passionate, accountable leadership.
As sustainability officer, I envision a community based approach to driving this change we all desire. The political power of the student voice is underestimated - we must use it. If you vote for me, I will work tirelessly to ensure your concerns are heard.
Regardless of this election, I will continue to dedicate my time to make this university more sustainable.

Aaiza: I'm no stranger to mobilizing people. As Deputy Head Girl, I bridged students and admin with big initiatives and external partnerships. Leading Dweebs Global’s Pakistan chapter, I oversaw tree plantings. At UCL, I’ve tackled sustainability from inside the Student Social Impact Team and the UCL ESG Society - finding ways to have “successful careers” that don’t nuke the planet.
Hugo: I’ve spent my life championing a greener future. From student council to charity leadership, I pushed climate awareness into the curriculum, pressured my institution, and kept sustainability on the agenda.
Sustainability must be more than corporate greenwashing - it must be student-led, institutionally enforced, and part of UCL’s DNA. Our three-pronged plan (full manifesto linked!)
1. UCL-Level Action: Force supplier accountability, track our carbon footprint with a public dashboard, and ban disposables in student bars.
2. Student-Led Change: Empower students through zero-waste Freshers’, cheaper plant-based meals, and on-campus food redistribution.
3. Partnerships: Go global by teaming up with other unis for maximum impact. Let’s make sure sustainability isn’t just a buzzword, but a way of life
Because you’re getting two for the price of one - the tall view, the short view, and every vantage point in between. We’ve led student bodies, tackled UCL’s sustainability quirks, and spearheaded large-scale environmental projects. We know how to rattle systems (while keeping it fun). Let’s not lose the fight for our future; let’s win it:, double leadership, double the eco-impact. Vote for us, and watch sustainability go from pipe dream to campus reality.
Hey! I’m King and I would love to be your next sustainability officer!

- My skills, knowledge, and deep-rooted passion for sustainability ensure the initiatives I drive will align with our planet's needs

I was part of the Eco Club at school, playing a pivotal role in making our school a certified EcoSchool by creating posters to reduce food waste and working with others to promote sustainable practices across year groups. Furthermore, as captain of Debate and founder of the Orwell Society, I independently researched and moderated complex topics, communicating them in an accessible way. As a social science student and IB survivor, I am a critical thinker who can assess the implications of different actions on stakeholders, ensuring balanced, well-thought-out solutions to real world problems.

Students should vote for me because I care deeply about sustainability as it is one of the biggest challenges we face today. I will ensure my own accountability and remain open to communication with those who have questions or ideas about what I can do. With proven experience in making educational institutions more sustainable, I am well-equipped to take these efforts to the next level, creating a lasting impact.

I’m passionate about making sustainability more than just a concept—it should be something that shapes daily life at UCL in a way that’s engaging, practical, and impactful. I believe real change happens when people feel inspired rather than overwhelmed, and I’d love to bring fresh ideas, enthusiasm, and a can-do attitude to this role. Whether it’s creating initiatives that get people talking, finding creative solutions to sustainability challenges, or simply leading by example, I’m committed to making UCL greener in a way that feels achievable and exciting for everyone.
If elected, I want to make sustainability at UCL feel less like a chore and more like an exciting, everyday part of university life. I’d focus on creating engaging initiatives that encourage real action, whether that’s making sustainable choices easier, sparking conversations, or bringing people together for creative, impactful projects. My goal is to cut through the overwhelm and show that small changes add up to big results. I want to leave a lasting impact by making sustainability more accessible, visible, and something the whole UCL community feels proud to be part of.
Students should vote for me because I’m passionate about making sustainability at UCL easy, exciting, and something everyone can get involved in. I’m not here for empty promises—I want to create real, practical change that fits into student life without feeling like a burden. I’ll bring fresh ideas, enthusiasm, and a down-to-earth approach to make sustainability more visible, accessible, and impactful. If you want someone who will push for real action, inspire change, and maybe even make sustainability fun, then I’m your person!

I will bring a strong passion for sustainability, a global perspective, and hands-on experience in environmental advocacy. Growing up in Mozambique and Malawi, I’ve seen the impact of environmental challenges and understand the need for community-driven change. My experience on my school’s environmental committee equipped me with skills in project management, student engagement, and advocacy. I excel at problem-solving, teamwork, and communication, ensuring student voices are heard while driving impactful sustainability initiatives at UCL.
If elected, I aim to make sustainability more accessible and actionable for all UCL students. I will work to improve waste reduction initiatives, promote sustainable events, and push for more digital alternatives to reduce paper waste. I will also ensure students’ voices are heard by actively engaging with the Student Sustainability Council and Union leaders. Through workshops, campaigns, and collaboration, I hope to inspire more students to get involved and make UCL a greener, more sustainable university for everyone.
Students should vote for me because I’ll make sustainability at UCL both impactful and fun! I bring passion, experience, and creative ideas to make eco-friendly choices easier and more exciting like waste-free events, sustainability challenges, and interactive workshops. I’ll ensure your voice is heard and push for real changes while keeping things engaging and accessible. Together, we can make UCL greener in a way that feels empowering, social, and fun!

Anoushka: As part of the UK Youth Climate Commission, I was a COP29 delegate, campaigning for youth climate policy. Through my Changemakers project, I’ve engaged with students, professors, and UCL admin to advocate for climate education.

We are already on track to raise environmental standards at UCL, and this position would enable us to create even more change next year!
