After having the privilege of leading a first successful year of the Transplant Surgery division of UCL Surgical Society, I'm excited to run again to be your Transplant Surgery Chair next year!

In my current tenure we started The Organ Odyssey Lecture Series, including attending a discourse at the Royal Institution, as well as hosting our inaugural UCL Transplant Surgery Symposium, bringing together leading experts & students from across the country. This event underscored the importance of innovations in this field whilst highlighting the necessity of organ donation from our Patient Perspective Panel initiative.

With the progress made, I am now committed to building on this momentum, hoping to grow our reach and impact via the following aims:

  • Hands-on workshops:  Equipping members with the practical skills required to excel in this field, from suturing techniques to organ preservation simulations
  • Expanding The Organ Odyssey: Broadening perspectives to incorporate talks/debates on transplant medicine, medical law and ethics, and myth-busting organ donation within different communities
  • Global collaboration: Elevating our landmark Transplant Surgery Symposium to an international stage, strengthening our outreach and networking with leaders & students from across the world

I am determined that with my experience, passion and a clear vision for the year ahead, we can provide an enriching environment for members to feel inspired and empowered to explore the future of transplant surgery!
