Surgical Society: Media Officer

Hi everyone, I’m Dui-Lan, and I’m excited to run for Media Officer of the Surgical Society!

Since joining the Neurosurgery division as Social Media Officer and the Transplant Surgery division as First-Year Representative, I’ve actively contributed to the society’s outreach and engagement. I designed merchandise for the International Neurology and Neurosurgery Conference 2025, helping to boost visibility, and created engaging social media content for tutorials. I also helped advertise the Transplant Surgery Symposium 2025 across various platforms to increase its reach.

Beyond the Surgical Society, I have extensive marketing experience. As part of the TEDx Society, I managed the social media accounts, playing a key role in selling over 90 tickets.

I’m eager to help grow the Surgical Society’s presence at UCL, making it more recognisable and engaging. Attending the society’s conferences and events has been an incredibly rewarding experience for me—whether it was learning from guest lectures by renowned surgeons, participating in hands-on workshops, or being inspired by the exciting developments in surgery. These experiences made me even more passionate about the field, and I’d love to help my fellow students discover and share that same excitement and inspiration.

If elected, I’ll work to expand our digital presence with creative and engaging content, ensuring more students can discover, connect with, and be inspired by the world of surgery.
