As a passionate advocate for equitable surgical care, I am honoured to stand for the position of Global Surgery Chair. My experience as a Conference Officer for the "We Are the World: Global Health and Surgery Conference" has deepened my commitment to fostering global collaboration and innovation in surgery.
The recent conference was a testament to the power of uniting surgeons, researchers, and healthcare advocates to address disparities in surgical care. We successfully raised over £700 for Gemini Untwined, engaged students worldwide, and expanded outreach to high schools and universities.
I aim to build on this momentum. As Global Surgery Chair, I will spearhead the organisation of an in-person or blended conference, ensuring accessibility while fostering stronger networks. My goal is to create new opportunities for students to engage in global surgery discourse, bridging the gap between aspiring medical professionals and established experts.
Together, we can drive meaningful change, inspire future leaders, and reinforce the commitment to making surgical care accessible for all. I would be honoured to lead this mission.
