I am really excited to run for the position of plastic surgery chair this year as I have been involved with the plastics department at the Royal Free and the Head and Neck department at UCLH with various research projects. I've really enjoyed immersing myself in both fields and would now like to share my passion as a senior medical student to my juniors.
I propose that we encourage medical students to undertake research projects with mentorship not from just consultants but also from senior medical students who are working on research projects. That will provide medical students a step up in applying for postgraduate surgical training programmes which can be quite competitive. I will make a research network and will recruit mentors who are keen and willing to supervise equally keen and willing medical students!
I will also be very keen for medical students to get work experience for which I will be liaising with both department's where I am doing research and encourage medical students to go and shadow surgeons and see first hand the wonders of the field.
Lastly, I am a big believer in global surgery and I believe that we should encourage charity and equality in surgery. Hence, I will be keen to organise a charity event the raise money for causes such as CLEFT or Scar free foundation.
Thank you for reading my statement I am very grateful for your vote and hope we can together inspire the next generation of surgeon in this field.

I am applying to be the Surgical Society: ENT Chair because I have a genuine interest in the specialty and am keen to inspire my peers to explore its opportunities. ENT combines complex surgical precision with holistic patient care, and I believe it deserves greater recognition among medical students. This role would allow me to channel my enthusiasm into bridging the gap between students and the specialty, fostering greater engagement and awareness.
As one of the SFO ENT UK Medical Student Representatives, I aim to organise events that connect medical students at UCL with leading professionals in the field. At UCL Surgical Society, I hope to build on this experience by organising teaching series, surgical skills workshops, career insight events, and networking opportunities with ENT specialists. I also plan to strengthen collaboration with national ENT bodies to maximise student exposure to the specialty.
With my leadership experience, enthusiasm, and dedication to surgical education, I am eager to contribute to UCL Surgical Society and support my peers in exploring a career in ENT.
