Surgical Society: Clinical Education Officer

Hi my name is Kannan I am excited to run for Clinical Education Officer to enhance medical education and provide students with engaging, high-quality learning opportunities. As a fourth-year medical student, I have a strong passion for teaching, curriculum development, and supporting my peers in their clinical training.
As the previous education officer for the UCL Surgical Society, I have created and delivered tutorials for pre-clinical students, helping them understand and integrate key medical concepts. In my role as Education Officer for the Anaesthesia Society, I designed SBA questions and Cheat Sheets to aid students in revising complex topics. Additionally, my involvement in coordinating workshops for the Medical Society Conference has strengthened my ability to organise educational events that are interactive and impactful. Beyond teaching, I am actively engaged in clinical research in audits and systematic reviews with surgical training, which gives me insight into the academic needs of students which I believe is essential for enhancing clinical education initiatives.
If elected, I will work to expand peer-led teaching and create a teaching series based on core conditions, improve accessibility to clinical resources, and collaborate with other societies to ensure students receive comprehensive teaching. I am committed to fostering an inclusive and enriching educational environment and would be honored to serve as Clinical Education Officer.
