Students for Global Health Society: President

Hi everyone! My name is Ishara and I would love to be your Students for Global Health Society President next year.

As a current medical student intercalating in Global Health this year, I have a true passion for Global Health and would love to be a friendly face to encourage more people to get involved in this field. I am confident and comfortable in leadership roles, having taken on many throughout my time at university so far, such as Raising & Giving (RAG) Vice President for RUMS Society and Volunteering & Outreach Officer for RUMS Badminton Club this year, in addition to Social Secretary for RUMS Badminton Club last year. I hope to build upon my leadership experience to create a positive, collaborative atmosphere where all members feel empowered to contribute to meaningful initiatives and further their interests in global health.

I am eager to contribute to Students for Global Health Society by fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where students can engage with important global health challenges. I envision continuing the society's impact through strategic partnerships, hosting more frequent events, such as student networking, guest lectures or careers talks, and continuing to develop opportunities for members to participate in advocacy and outreach initiatives.
