Having been involved in this club and serving on its committee, I find it difficult to imagine my university experience without it. It provided me with opportunities to explore my interests and develop my leadership skills to it’s greatest capacity. It has provided me with a platform for engaging with like-minded individuals, expand my perspectives, and actively contributing to a community I am truly passionate about.
In my role as a first-year representative, I collaborated with fellow members, conducted research, and brainstormed ideas. This experience has given me valuable insights into the club's dynamics and allowed me to stay informed about current events and club activities.
I am now prepared to take on additional responsibilities within the club. I am eager to contribute to events and social gatherings not only as a participant but also as someone who can assist in planning and organizing them. I am particularly interested in the position of Vice President, as it would enable me to coordinate tasks, foster collaboration, and enhance our organizational effectiveness. I believe my natural organizational skills will allow me to excel in this role if given the opportunity.

Hey everyone! I’m Calista. I study pharmacology, and I’m thrilled to be running for Vice President this year!
As Vice President, I’m eager to build on our current work by diversifying the breadth and scope of our content. I’d love to introduce a specialized editorial with an interdisciplinary focus on the ethical, economic, and sociopolitical implications of current scientific research and technology. It would also be exciting to broaden our society’s activities by organizing more interactive events like pub quiz nights, networking mixers, and academic talks on a regular basis. These would be great opportunities for our members to explore new fields, exchange ideas, and deepen their understanding of scientific topics in a dynamic and engaging way.
As Senior Editor for my high school’s newspaper, I’ve developed a strong set of organizational and leadership skills, as well as a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset that will help me thrive in this role. Combined with my passion for science and technology, I believe that I am well-equipped to make a meaningful and worthwhile contribution to this society.
Thank you for your consideration, and I look forward to the opportunity to work alongside all of you next year!

When I ran for vice-president of Science Magazine last year, I promised you the sun (literally, my entire introduction had to do with the Sun being up at 9pm). This year, I hope to promise you more, I wish to offer you the stars.
My name is Kai and next year I'm going to be a final year. I wish for my last year to go out with a big bang with UCL Science Magazine. Last year I promised you collaborations and expansion, and we delivered. Thanks to the amazing work of our entire committee, of whom I am but a cog, we've collaborated with over a dozen other UCL societies, hosting landmark events like our series of STEMathons and career panels. Thanks to our hard work, UCL Science Magazine is currently short-listed for the Student Publication Association's Science Publication of the year.
In our grand vision,, our current accomplishments, like the sun, are but a single (though massively important) star in our night skies. This coming year, if elected, I wish to promise more. I wish upon our stars for more member engagement, ensuring that the events we host form a strong cohesive community. I will deliver upon an expansion in collaborations, utilizing my knowledge as treasurer for three other societies to build a network of financial connections and partnerships with think tanks, scientific institutions, and companies.
This year, we have laid the ground work for our magazine, allowing it to shine amongst all others, next year we shall harness this momentum and create a lasting legacy.
