Hi everyone! 💜💗

Over this season I have loved so much being a part of UCLWRFC, both on and off the pitch, and I truly believe this is a special group of people. I've found that my previous rugby experiences have given me a lot of insight, and I would love the chance to use that to guide our team going forwards!

For those who don't know my rugby background - I started playing rugby when I was 10, for my local club, made my county team at 14, and regionals at 17. My club had a big girls section and my team came 3rd nationally in my final season. In my undergrad I mostly switched to playing touch, but still trained with a local ladies team.

  • I've played most positions over this time #utility. I have a good knowledge of playing as both a forward and a back - invaluable as captain.
  • I coached new players on key skills - I love sharing my knowledge and explaining technique.
  • As a forest school teacher I'm also confident instructing a group and have a big voice!
  • I love the tactical side of rugby and I bring a deep understanding of the game. I would love to see us work more on decision making, and how we use space and positioning next year!
  • You all know I'm a big advocate for safety - I'd love to do more conditioning and injury prevention ❤️‍🩹
  • Surprise - I am also actually quite good at admin! I was president for lacrosse at Exeter so I know how this side of a sports society works.

Vote me your captain and the society will be in safe hands next year! Literally love you all 🫶

Abi xoxo
