Pure Krav Maga Club: President

Hi there! I am Emily, and I am a second-year law student running for the position of UCL Pure Krav Maga President. I joined the society back in October last year, and I can proudly say that it’s one of the best decisions I ever made. That summer, I experienced a very uncomfortable incident on a tram in Poland, which made me realise that I was completely unprepared for dealing with such situations. Therefore, I decided to try the taster classes, without initially knowing anybody. I did not however expect to have such a ridiculous amount of fun and find such a strong sense of community. I am grateful for the friends I made sparring, and especially for their patience in the time it takes me to realise I should not be using my left-hand during practice. I am also grateful to Master Mohammed and Master Shaikh for all the lessons learnt along the way, not just to do with self-defence. 

By running for Pure Krav Maga President, I want to take the opportunity to give back to the society, by overseeing the committee, helping out as much as I can, and encouraging more people to join. I hope that this society will be able to run many years into the future, and I would be proud to play a part in ensuring its continuity.
