Serena Trant

Hi I'm Serena and I'm in second year going into 3rd year, and would love to help contribute more to the Physics Society, and department, as Welfare Officer!

As welfare officer I would wish to ensure the society maintains its welcoming atmosphere, and I hope that I can be an approachable contact for all, both regarding wellbeing and general information about the society.
I would also aspire to regularly hold informal and relaxed gatherings, and would liaise with the social secretary and committee to arrange this.

Furthermore, I have experience working within a team of a UCL society, and I am currently the Communications Officer for the Nature and Conservation Society, where I promote events as well as discuss and collaborate with other committee members. I would therefore hope to bring these communications skills to the society, both to answer inquires and to be a friendly point of contact of all.

I also have more direct experience of working within a volunteering role in the physics department, most recently volunteering to be a part of the backstage crew at PANDA day. From this, I gained insight into the running of an event, as well as how to maintain a positive and cordial environment.

I therefore hope, given my previous experience, that my skills may be of use in the Physics Society, and I would work to ensure that the society remains an enjoyable space for all!
