Sarah Irfan

Hi, I am Sarah!

Over the past year I have served as your First-Year Representative for Pak Soc, having had the privilege of working closely with the committee, learning the inner workings of the society, and contributing to events that bring our community together. Now, as I step into my second year, I am eager to give back by taking on a more central role in shaping and strengthening our society.

As General Secretary, I will ensure that Pak Soc remains organised, efficient, and welcoming for all. I want to build on the momentum of our past successes by streamlining communication, improving event coordination, and making our society more accessible to everyone at UCL. My time as a First-Year Rep has given me hands-on experience in event planning and society management, and I understand what it takes to keep things running smoothly while also bringing in fresh ideas to enhance our presence on campus.

Pak Soc has given me a home away from home, and I want to create that same experience for others. My goal is to make sure the society continues to grow, bring people together, and represent our community in the best way possible.

I hope to have your support in making that happen!

Raahym Rehan

I am Raahym Rehan, and I am running for the position of General Secretary for the Pakistan Society. I have a deep connection to Pakistan and pride in our heritage, and my experience at UCL has strengthened my resolve to represent our community effectively. Through my leadership roles as Events Officer for the UCL Mathematics Society and Senior Teaching Assistant, I have honed my skills in communication, organization, and inclusive community-building. These experiences have prepared me to facilitate open dialogue, create engaging initiatives, and foster connections among members, both locally and globally. I intend to leverage my background and leadership experience to enhance our society’s role as a vibrant bridge between Pakistani culture and the opportunities available at UCL. My vision is to implement initiatives that celebrate our traditions, promote cultural exchange, and provide networking and educational opportunities, ensuring that every member feels represented and empowered. I believe that strong, effective leadership will not only raise the profile of the Pakistan Society within our campus but also build a cohesive community that supports personal and academic growth. I am excited about the chance to contribute to a future where our heritage is celebrated and our collective voice strengthens our impact on campus and beyond.

Talha Ahmed

I am standing for General Secretary of PakSoc because I am deeply passionate about celebrating our rich culture and creating a welcoming space where everyone feels connected to our community. Being part of this society has been an incredible experience, and I want to ensure that every member can engage with and enjoy our traditions in meaningful ways.

PakSoc already hosts incredible large-scale events like Khushamdeed and Jalwa, and I would love the opportunity to continue their brilliance, ensuring they remain highlights of our year. However, I also want to build a stronger sense of involvement and community by introducing more regular, smaller-scale events that allow members to connect in a meaningful way. Whether it’s day trips, movie nights or collaborative initiatives with other societies, I want to create more opportunities for engagement beyond just the big moments.
