Assalamu Alaikum,
I’m Nazihah, nominating myself for President of UCL Muslimah Careers Society (MCS). Having worked in the events sector, I have helped plan and run initiatives that support young Muslim women stepping into their careers.
A strong President must be decisive, collaborative, innovative, and truly committed to the cause- all of which I embody. From attending corporate work experience events myself, I’ve seen the gap in the representation of young Muslim women in professional spaces.
I aim to make MCS a platform that amplifies the voices of every Muslimah pursuing her career. I aim to empower, connect, and equip our members with the resources, networks, and opportunities they deserve. By creating inclusive career events and ensuring every industry is accessible. This will include:
• Networking events & industry panels: for aspiring medics, corporate professionals, and creatives.
• Undergraduate career development: mentorship schemes, skills workshops, internship guidance, and networking sessions.
• Postgraduate career support: tailored events on research opportunities, leadership roles, and entrepreneurship.
• Alumni & employer connections: building mentorship networks and career guidance from successful Muslim women.
I am eager to collaborate with top companies and firms to meet the diverse career needs of our Muslimahs- not by changing ourselves to fit the mould, but by ensuring that the world sees and accepts us for who we are.

I am excited to run for President of Muslimah Careers Society to further our mission of empowering Muslim women in their professional journeys. As Head of Marketing, I have successfully expanded our reach, enhanced engagement, and organised impactful events that connected members with industry leaders. My experience in managing large-scale initiatives, combined with my commitment to fostering a supportive and ambitious community, makes me well-positioned to lead the society to new heights.
As President, I will focus on strengthening mentorship opportunities, increasing collaborations with leading firms, and creating tailored career development resources that reflect the unique challenges and aspirations of our members.
