Our purpose:
Our mission at the Muslimah Careers Society (MCS) is to empower Muslim women at UCL in their professional journeys by providing an environment for information access, networking opportunities, and mentorship.
Some key initiatives include:
- Careers mentorship schemes for all members: A great opportunity to develop your professional network and find role models currently working in industry, alongside gaining general and tailored careers advice!
- Non-drinking networking socials: We are dedicated to organising inclusive networking events that cater to all students from various backgrounds, ensuring a welcoming environment without any emphasis on alcohol.
- Events with like-minded companies: We hope to run a variety of events with corporate partners, sponsors and allies including office tours/visits, on-campus or online speakers panels.
- Regular industry-specific speakers panels: Want to learn more about careers you don’t know a lot about? Is there a specific industry you would like to pursue? Have questions to ask a panel of guest speakers? Come along!
- Exclusive opportunities for work experience or internship: We run various schemes and programmes, only found through the MCS, with our corporate partners and organisations.
The membership structure:
- Taster: access to our online events ONLY.
- Standard: access to everything available including, but not limited to, speaker panel events, in-person office tours, our mentorship schemes and work experience opportunities with leading corporations.
