Our purpose:
Our mission at the Muslimah Careers Society (MCS) is to empower Muslim women at UCL in their professional journeys by bridging the gap between university and the workforce, through networking opportunities, career insight sessions, and mentorship.
Some key initiatives include:
- Events with like-minded companies: We hope to run a variety of events with corporate partners, sponsors and allies including office tours/visits, on-campus or online speakers panels.
- Regular industry-specific speakers panels: Want to learn more about careers you don’t know a lot about? Is there a specific industry you would like to pursue? Have questions to ask a panel of guest speakers? Come along!
- Exclusive opportunities for work experience or internships: We run various schemes and programmes, only found through the MCS, with our corporate partners and organisations.
- Non-drinking networking socials: We are dedicated to organising inclusive networking events that cater to all students from various backgrounds, ensuring a welcoming environment without any emphasis on alcohol.
- Opportunities for mentorship throughout the year: An opportunity to develop your network, find role models in the industry, and gain careers advice - keep your eyes peeled!
The membership structure:
- Taster: access to a selected social/session.
- Standard: access to everything available including, but not limited to, speaker panel events, in-person office tours, our work experience opportunities with leading corporations, and mentor schemes.
