MODO Fashion Society: Treasurer

This year, as a member of the society and as a model, I experienced the benefits of being in MODO- to be part of a wholesome community. So, I decided to nominate myself for treasurer- being part of a community while also simultaneously helping nurture it further. I would allocate funding for more fashion related events where members would be able to socialise with each other to build a stronger community.

As the treasurer, I promise to ensure a smooth functioning of the society’s events and its budget allocation. I aim to ensure that the society is able to organise events in an efficient manner, for example by submitting forms and grants to the SU well before the deadline. 

Being an economics student, I have a clear understanding of the financial acumen required for the role of treasurer. I am a detail-oriented person which helps me be precise with calculations and record keeping- both of which are important for the functioning of the society.

TLDR:

1. Efficient at filling forms and will submit them to the SU before deadlines
2. Allocation of funding for more fashion related events where members can also socialise with each other
3. Will ensure precise allocation of budget for various MODO events
4. Detail-oriented and organised at planning

In conclusion, as the treasurer for MODO I promise to ensure smooth functioning of all events, timely submission of grants to the SU and allocating funding for more events throughout the year to offer members more opportunities to socialise with each other.

Hi - you will know me from being Treasurer over the past year - a role I have absolutely adored. We’ve had an incredibly successful sold-out fashion show this year, and I’d love to keep that momentum moving forward for next year! I believe I’m the right person for the job because I already know this role rather intimately (exhibit A: countless hours on SU forms with Ava and weekly trips to the SU Desk).

MODO’s budget is key to the quality and scope of opportunities it provides. I’ve loved MODO’s events over my two years at UCL—especially designing for the 2024 show—and none of it would be possible without careful financial planning. Having budgeted for the 2025 show and afterparty, processed vital contracts, and handled legal matters, I have a deep appreciation for event planning + budgeting, on both small and large scales.

As a Maths student (sigh), a Notion control-freak, (and an aspiring office siren) I’m confident in managing the society’s finances efficiently—especially since I’ve already done so successfully. I’m happy to continue to take on all the admin necessary to keep MODO thriving. The goal is to create an environment where creativity and talent flourish, benefiting our current members + the next generation.

MODO is a community of the most well-dressed and immaculate souls I have ever met—you all inspire and uplift me so much. I have loved working with all of you for the previous year, and would be honoured to be able to do so once more.
