To quickly introduce myself, hi I'm Laura, and I'm a second-year student studying Bioprocessing of New Medicines. Last year, I joined this society with one simple goal: gain a deeper insight into the world of MedTech. With this goal in mind, if elected, I seek to bring the same devotion to the field by dedicating myself in ensuring next year's technology in healthcare conferences are filled with passionate and dedicated professionals! My previous experience in events-planning, collaboration with professionals, and communication skills stretch as far back as high school; I was previously an active ambassador for both Parkinson's and cancer research by having organised an array of panels and educational workshops for my fellow peers, while also volunteering at several fundraising galas. Since then, I haven't abandoned my passion for bridging the gap between students and professionals. For me, this position means so much more than simply organising conferences, this position would allow me to help each and one of us gain deeper insights into such a vast field which is often closed off to students... These past two years, having attended a plethora of MedTech conferences has reinforced my willingness in helping us achieve one goal: acquiring practical knowledge expanding our professional horizons.
Hopefully this short manifesto conveyed to you my passion for this field, and helped demonstrate my dedication in fulfilling my (potential) role as a Technology in Healthcare Executive!
Hello, I'm Harini. I am eager to apply for the Technology in Healthcare Executive role, motivated by my distinctive background as a medical student and my strong passion for fostering innovation in healthcare. As a fifth-year medical student, I have seen firsthand how technology is transforming patient care—whether through AI-enhanced medical imaging or digital solutions that improve patient access. This exposure led me to pursue an iBSc in Mathematics and Computers in Medicine and inspired me to explore machine learning research in immunology. Over the past couple years, my active involvement in the society has deepened my commitment to this area. Through workshops, mentorship programmes, networking events, and the Technology in Healthcare Conference, I have gained invaluable insights and developed a keen interest in taking a more active role in organising next year’s event.
In my current role as Events Lead for "More than Medics," a non-profit startup, I have refined my skills in managing speakers, securing sponsorships, and coordinating logistics. I am excited to apply these organisational and communication skills to this Executive role. Attending the Technology in Healthcare Executive event was a real eye-opener, highlighting the remarkable innovations shaping the future of healthcare. At next year’s conference, I’m keen to implement a "Rapid-Fire Guide to Launching a MedTech Startup" to offer even more value to our members, who are full of ideas but need guidance on execution. With my passion for MedTech and
Hi, my name is Aimilia and I'm a 2nd year Medical Innovation and Enterprise student. I am excited to apply for this role of Technology in Healthcare Executive. My academic focus on bridging medicine with cutting-edge technology, ideal for this position, and my experience as a member of the society has given me insight into how MedTech can help shape the future of healthcare. Furthermore, as a UCLH volunteer, I've had firsthand experience in a clinical setting and have developed a real appreciation and understanding for how MedTech innovations can directly affect patient care. Hi, MedTech Society! I’m Catharina, a Biomedical Engineering student, and I’d be honoured to serve as your Healthcare Technology Executive.
Growing up across six countries, I’ve witnessed firsthand the stark contrast in healthcare accessibility. However, groundbreaking medical advancements happening right here on the UCL campus can bridge these gaps. As Healthcare Technology Executive, I want to help MedTech Society explore and showcase these cutting-edge solutions.
Through my experiences at Cambridge Stem Cell Institute and Novozymes, I’ve worked hands-on with genetic engineering, biosensors, and drug delivery systems. Whether it was coding sensors for protein purification or analyzing CRISPR-edited stem cells, I saw the immense potential of biomedical engineering to transform lives.
I aim to:
- Expand industry engagement by organizing company visits, and continue to expand upon MedTech’s inspiring workshops, networking events, and conferences to connect students with leaders in MedTech.
- Encourage interdisciplinary collaboration, bringing together engineers, biologists, and computer scientists to explore the future of healthcare technology.
- Launch hands-on initiatives, such as hackathons and case competitions, to challenge students to create innovative medical solutions.
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every MedTech event I’ve attended this year, from coding workshops to both conferences. Now, I’m excited to contribute from the other side and help organise these impactful events myself.

As Technology in Healthcare Executive, I am eager to build on these efforts by organizing insightful conferences, networking events, and hands-on workshops that will make knowledge about these technologies more accessible, engaging, and inclusive for our diverse student body.
As Senior Editor for my high school’s newspaper, I’ve developed a strong set of organizational and leadership skills, as well as a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset that will help me thrive in this role. Combined with my passion for medical innovation and technologies, I believe that I am well-equipped to make a meaningful and worthwhile contribution to this society.
Thank you for your consideration, and I look forward to the opportunity to work alongside all of you next year!

Hello! My name is Jane, I’m a second-year Medicine student, and I have been a part of the Medtech society from the moment I joined the university. I have always had a profound interest in the field, but attending all the different events and conferences throughout these 2 years deepened my passion even further. Now that I am set to intercalate in Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering next year, I would be honoured to join the committee on the mission of helping other students uncover their passion for the field.
I have been part of the RUMS Welfare subcommittee this year, and I have gained valuable experience in event organisation, including venue selection and catering options exploration. It also taught me skills applicable to any team or committee such as professional communication, workload distribution and time management. I see myself as a hard-working team member, who is not afraid of taking on responsibility and who helps others to achieve the best results.
I am eager to apply my knowledge and passion in organisation of the Technology and Healthcare conference. Attending this year’s conference inspired me to help plan such a large-scale event. I’m deeply passionate about medical technology and healthcare, and I want to support fellow students in exploring these fields. As Events Executive of the Impact Careers Society, I organised the Digital Health Innovations panel for the annual Impact Careers Conference. I also initiated a Healthcare Consulting panel as the Vice President of the Life Sciences Society. These experiences gave me firsthand insight into inviting industry professionals, curating engaging discussions, and keeping panels dynamic as a moderator.
