Meher Parashar

Hello, my name is Meher, I am currently a second-year student studying Medical Innovation and Enterprise and I am running for the role of Technology in Healthcare Chair. I have been an active member of the MedTech Society for almost 2 years; attending past national conferences left me feeling inspired and empowered for the future of medical technology! Engaging with incredible innovators that are shaping healthcare made me want to contribute and leverage my skills and interests to create an impactful experience for other like-minded individuals!

My active internship with a FemTech startup has taught me how to collaborate with experts, network effectively, and bring ideas to life -  skills that I would apply to organise an engaging conference with a variety of speakers. Furthermore, my experience in organisation and leadership through being appointed the head of my school’s Entertainments Committee will ensure high quality and professional events.

I am excited to contribute to a society that brings people together who are just as excited about healthcare innovation as I am. If elected, I would make sure to deliver an interactive conference with hands-on workshops and the ability to learn and network with both industry leaders and innovative startups. Thank you for your consideration!

Vedh Kannan

Hi! My name is Vedh and I am running for Chair of the Technology in Healthcare Conference because I am passionate about the intersection of technology and medicine, with hands-on experience developing innovative solutions. As a co-founder of BloodBox, a machine-learning-based malaria diagnostic tool that has received over €20,000 in funding and been presented internationally, I understand the power of technology to transform healthcare. My experience in software development for drug discovery and my seven months working on genome analysis software at Harvard Medical School gives me a broad perspective on computational approaches in medicine. As Chair, I will ensure the conference highlights cutting-edge advancements and fosters collaboration between researchers and industry.  My experience in developing technology-driven healthcare solutions equips me with the ability to ask the right questions, and facilitate thought-provoking discussions with experts. I will ensure panels go beyond surface-level discussions and engage with the most pressing, complex, and exciting issues in the field. By drawing on my background in machine learning, software development, and scientific research, I will bring a unique perspective that sparks meaningful dialogue.
