Lauren Wang

Hi! I am Lauren Wang. I am excited to nominate myself for D&I conference chair! As a second-year Medical Physics student with two years of experience in MedTech, it is thrilled to be part of this welcoming, knowledgeable, and supportive academic community. Last year, as the Diversity & Inclusion Conference Executive, I had the chance of helping organize and build an impactful event, bringing together voices and ideas that drive meaningful change. I truly enjoyed the collaborative experience, and it deepened my appreciation for MedTech’s mission. This year, I am eager to contribute even more! With my experience, passion, and dedication, I want to help MedTech continue to grow, create opportunities for students, and foster an inclusive, innovative environment. I am ready to bring fresh ideas, work alongside an amazing team, and make a positive impact. I would love the opportunity to continue giving back to this incredible community, and I hope to be part of the committee once again!

Meher Parashar

Hello, my name is Meher, I am currently a second-year student studying Medical Innovation and Enterprise and am running for the role of Diversity and Inclusion Chair. Engaging with incredible innovators in past MedTech conferences inspired me to contribute and leverage my skills and interests to create an impactful experience for other like-minded individuals!

Through my active internship at a FemTech startup, I have seen firsthand how female health issues can be underrepresented and therefore overlooked in medical research and innovation. This experience has reinforced my belief that healthcare is not about fairness but about developing solutions that benefit everyone, regardless of background, gender, or identity. Beyond my academic and professional experiences, I have actively advocated inclusivity, delivering speeches on embracing individuality, including why success should not come at the cost of femininity.

My experience in organisation and leadership through being appointed the head of my school’s Entertainments Committee will ensure the delivery of high quality and professional events.

I am excited to contribute to a society that brings people together who are just as excited about healthcare innovation as I am. If elected, I would make sure to deliver an interactive conference with hands-on workshops and the ability to learn and network with both industry leaders and innovative startups. Thank you for your consideration!
