Emma Tan

Hi, I’m Emma, a Year 1 Neuroscience student. If elected, I’ll create a collaborative, caring community where everyone can:

💗 GIVE

As Volunteering Officer this year, I reached out to homeless shelters and food banks in London and will continue to grow these community outreach opportunities. I’ll also strive to organize our flagship SLT for a meaningful overseas experience to help others. Additionally, I will coordinate bake sales and fundraisers - hopefully a  Biomedical Charity Ball together with other societies - leveraging MEDLIFE’s network and our ties with KCL MEDLIFE to support our initiatives.

📗 GROW

I’ll provide resources and opportunities for students to engage with the community. This includes guest speakers from medical and charity fields, “Day in the Life” TikToks, and potential lab, shelter & hospital visits. I’ll also coordinate skills training in first aid, mental health first aid, working with children, and pre-SLT language classes to equip us with the tools we need to help most effectively.

 MY EXPERIENCE:

As President of a music education nonprofit, I led bilingual communication, organized fundraisers, and coordinated an online teaching program. As Volunteering Officer at MEDLIFE, I’ve gained skills in leadership, teamwork, and event management, and I have a deep love for this initiative, all of which I’ll bring to this role 😊
