This has been my first year in LM, and I've loved being part of the society. As a guitarist, playing in bands has been one of the most rewarding parts of UCL - I've been involved in Rhapsody, RnBlooms, House Band, and many gigs at Mully's. As House Band Director, my main goal would be to build a community, where everyone in HouseBand gets regular opportunities to perform. I want to increase the number and variety of gigs, expanding into different genres, whether it be big society events or smaller jam sessions. I also want to make HouseBand more interactive by organising band socials and jam nights. My strong organisation skills, reliability and clear communication make me well suited for the role. I'd love the chance to make HouseBand bigger, better and more fun for everyone involved!

I have a real passion for live music, and have been playing for over 10 years, covering a range of genres. My main instrument is bass, but I have also played guitar and drums in bands. I have played bass for every single house band gig this year (2024/25), and have really enjoyed it.
After having managed my own band back home for 3 years now, I am used to organising and setting up rehearsals, helping use my theory knowledge (includes A level Music) to help communication between the members. I have played/organised at most venue types, including but not limited to: musicals, concerts, pub gigs and in the Berklee Valencia performance course, and just love everything about live music.
I also have experience from having to organise and direct rehearsals at my school, where I was house captain, for school competitions such as “House music”, where I'd have to organise weekly rehearsals, run auditions, and equipment allocations for rock/pop bands and orchestras. I also used to teach guitar lessons, and volunteered giving lessons at a school for children with visual and sensory impairments. This experience taught me how to adapt and help make those I am rehearsing with feel comfortable in a safe and friendly environment.
I hope I've demonstrated my love of playing and experience in organising musicians and live music events, and capability for the role of "House Band Director".
Thanks for any support! (feel free to contact me if you have any questions at +447484600109, thanks! ).

Hey, I'm Polina and I'm applying to be House Band Director!
I'm super motivated to find great gig opportunities for both Function Band and House Band, and create a good, welcoming and productive environment in rehearsals in preparation for them.
My qualifications include a Diploma in Music Composition from the Los Angeles College of Music, where I got a lot of experience playing original music and covers in full band settings, MD-ing rehearsals, booking gigs and performing live. I've been singing both classical and contemporary music for over 10 years, and play keys and guitar as well. Performing and MD-ing is something I really enjoy balancing, and I think one helps the other be more effective. In the last 2 years, I've discovered a huge love for vocal coaching and arranging, and have been doing it both paid externally and in the UCL sphere, as Vocal AD for Rhapsody and Vocal AMD for Carousel. With Rhapsody, I got experience actively playing a role in running and judging auditions, as well finding suitable singers for specific songs, and coaching them to achieve a certain stylistic vision.
Making music with others is my greatest passion, and this kind of directing and coaching is something I find a special joy and fulfilment in. I would be very dedicated to having these kinds of roles in House/Function Band, and making them musically tight and socially welcoming xx

Hey, I’m Arhan, and I’m excited to put myself forward for Live Music House Band Director!
Having played at various UCL shows and gigs—especially Fridays at Mully’s—I’ve always loved how fun and welcoming the vibe is. Every gig has made me more keen to get involved, and I think stepping up as House Band Director would be a great way to do that. I’ve picked up a solid understanding of set-up, sound, and coordination along the way, but more than that, I want to help make gigs run even smoother and feel even better to play.
I’ve noticed how many people are itching to perform and form bands, but sometimes it’s hard to know where to start. I want to make it easier—more jam nights, more chances for people to jump in last-minute, and more ways to get involved without it feeling like a big deal. I’d also introduce more variety, like dedicated jam nights for different genres and themes—whether it’s rock, latin, jazz, or anything else—so more musicians feel like there’s a space for them. The scene is already buzzing, but there’s so much room to keep it growing, and I’d love to help make that happen.
Basically, I just want to get more people playing, more often, with less hassle—and I think I’d be pretty good at it.
