Anthony Gurgov

Hi! I’m Anthony, a first-year Law student, and I’m running for Labour Society Welfare Officer.

Our society offers an incredible range of events—from socials to speaker panels—while benefiting from all the opportunities London and university collaboration provide. But I also know how isolating London can be, and as Welfare Officer, I want to ensure that the Labour Society is a space where people truly feel connected and supported.

I would work to give you a greater voice, making sure our events and decisions are shaped by what members actually want. Whether through more polls or an open line of communication with me, I would ensure that everyone has the opportunity to share their ideas and help shape the society’s direction.

As an applications mentor both during and after my Sixth Form, I have experience listening to and understanding people’s concerns with compassion and mindfulness—while also taking proactive steps to address them. I want to bring that same approach to the Labour Society, making it as friendly, welcoming, and inclusive as possible, and that starts with listening.

Thanks for reading and I hope I have your vote!
