I am passionate about creating a welcoming and supportive environment for all members of the UCL Korean Christian YeDarm Society. University life can be challenging, and I want to ensure that everyone in our community feels heard, valued, and cared for—both spiritually and emotionally.
As Welfare Officer, I will prioritize mental well-being, inclusivity, and fostering a strong sense of belonging within the society. Whether through organizing support networks, promoting open conversations about mental health, or simply being a friendly face people can turn to, I am committed to making sure no one feels alone in their journey at UCL.
With my dedication and empathy, I hope to contribute to a society where members not only grow in faith but also find comfort and encouragement in one another. I would be honored to serve and support you all in this role.
Hi I am Sarah ! I am a currently a second year Economics and Business with East European studies student.
Why vote for me?
I will work hard to ensure K-pop society is a friendly, inclusive and exciting space. I enjoy getting along with other people and making other people happy.
I believe my ability to communicate effectively and calmly even under pressure will change K-pop society for the better. Also, I am a very approachable and reliable person so I will do well in this position.
My door will always be open for anyone who wants to talk and air out anything that might be bothering them. I care about this society and how it ends up as it has provided a safe bubble away from stress for me. I want this to be the same case for everyone else and I am very passionate about this.
If you choose me I will keep on persevering to prove to you that you will have made the right choice by choosing me :)
Horanghae !!!
I am excited to run for Welfare Officer because I want to make the K-pop society a supportive space for members and the committee. K-pop society has a wide range of events, and I would like to create an environment in which members can unwind, chat, meet new friends, and share their interest in K-pop.
K-pop society consists of a wide range of events, from dance classes to board game socials. I want to be able to create an easygoing, cheerful environment. I also want to implement more relaxed social events, such as cafe socials for members or committees, where students can take aesthetic photos while also talking about their well-being and connection to K-pop.
K-pop society is not just about music but rather a community. I wanted to ensure that members could feel safe at events while also having fun. With my passion for K-pop and my dedication to student well-being, I look forward to running as K-pop society’s Welfare Officer.
Hi my name is Nathaniel and I’m running for welfare officer! If elected I will strive to create a sense of community in the society where members feel safe coming to the committee with any concerns and to ensure fast and unbiased resolutions to any conflicts that arise. For example I’d push for the use of an anonymous feedback form for piece members to give feedback on their leaders or for society members to give feedback on events so that everyone’s voices can be heard and so that we know where we need to improve if necessary. I also hope to ensure the committees voices are heard as well and to ensure any feedback is given in a constructive way as I understand how difficult the roles of the other committee are, and I strive to ensure they are sufficient supported in their roles too!! I look forward to building a better society with you all :)))
Hi everyone! I'm Marsya, a 2nd-year Cancer Biomedicine student with the iconic hat from Malaysia, and I’ll be running for the position of welfare officer!
Being part of this society for the past two years has shown me how incredible the k-pop soc community is, and I want to contribute by ensuring that every member feels welcomed, supported, and heard. My experience as the welfare officer of the gaming society has equipped me with the skills to foster an inclusive and engaging environment — whether it was organising social events, for current members or for freshers, creating safe spaces for members to connect and seek advice, or managing online interactions to ensure a positive atmosphere, and I would love to bring this experience to a society that is as dear to me as k-pop soc. Additionally, my time as a producer for my school’s TEDx production taught me the importance of communication, problem-solving, and offering support to fellow team members under high-pressure situations.
As somebody who's chronically online, I'll be sure to respond to any of your concerns asap, and will try to the best of my abilities to resolve them as the welfare of the community will remain at my utmost priority. Whether you need a friendly face, a listening ear, or just someone to yap to as a fellow E, I’m here for you! My goal is to make sure everyone feels at home here and to create a warm, supportive atmosphere — just like the one that welcomed me when I was a fresher!
(I have withdrawn my nomination for K-pop soc Welfare Officer, I'm not sure why the SU website will not allow me to remove my name from the nominations section but just to preface for everyone to please not vote for me, direct your vote to other worthy nominees!! Good luck to the other candidates:)!!!)
