Hi everyone! My name is Sabrina Hart, and in the 2025/2026 academic year, I will be a third year in the classics program. I joined the Investment Society in my first year, and have most loved learning from various speakers over the last two years. As VP of Speaker Relations, my primary tool for expanding our speaker pool will be utilising UCL’s incredible alumni network. One thing I would like to expand on is the experience level of our speakers- currently, we are lucky enough to have senior members of firms speak to our members, and while I will certainly continue this, I will also focus on getting speakers who are newer to their careers.
I feel that this will give members a more detailed view of these careers, providing opportunities to ask questions and network with professionals with whom they can closely relate. The process for getting investment jobs and internships has greatly changed in the last few years, and having speakers who started their careers more recently will give our members a clearer idea of what to expect in their own endeavours.
I also hope to collaborate with other universities’ societies to give our members wider access to more speakers. This will expand the number of speakers with whom our members can speak and give them every opportunity possible to grow their careers. Speaker Relations are a pivotal part of our society, and I hope to help give our members the best experience possible.
I am excited to be considered for Vice President of Speaker Relations, a role that perfectly aligns with my passion for communication, networking, and creating meaningful connections. Throughout my experiences, whether engaging venture capital partners to explore potential investments or facilitating insightful discussions at UCL’s Investment Fund, I have developed a natural ability to connect deeply with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Whether it's bonding on the football field with teammates, initiating compelling conversations during finance events, or confidently presenting strategic investment proposals to industry experts, my approach is genuine, thoughtful, and effective. I thrive in scenarios that require bridging relationships, understanding individual perspectives, and fostering dialogue that leads to shared success.
As VP of Speaker Relations, I would leverage this passion and experience to attract inspiring professionals and cultivate lasting partnerships. My commitment is to enrich our events by bringing dynamic speakers who inspire our community, expand our networks, and drive our collective growth. Together, let's amplify our connections and bring extraordinary voices to our society.
I am eager to take on the Speaker Relations role at UCL Invest because I believe that the true value of a finance society lies in the quality of insights and opportunities it provides to its members. My goal is to ensure that every student benefits as much as possible by securing high-profile speakers from major firms and industries, offering invaluable perspectives on different career paths and sectors. Through my strong communication skills and proactive networking approach, I am confident in my ability to connect with CEOs, industry leaders, and professionals to bring them to our events. By doing so, I aim to broaden members exposure to different roles within finance and beyond, helping them make informed career decisions. This role perfectly aligns with my passion for finance, strategic outreach, and fostering professional growth within the UCL community.
Hey everyone, I’m Agathe, and I’m running for VP Speaker Relations.
A bit about me, I study Management Science with Engineering Mathematics, I love markets, investing, and I’ve been managing my own portfolio for a while now. I also help manage UCL’s portfolio as a UCLIF analyst, so if you ever see me staring intensely at a Bloomberg screen, just know I’m either doing deep research, or coping with a bad stock pick.
I’ve been part of Investment Soc since day one, and this year, I worked as a conference executive, learning from Thess (President) and Lin (VP). From chasing speakers to last-minute schedule changes, I’ve really seen how much goes into securing the right people, and also how the right speaker can turn a good event into a great one.
Beyond spamming inboxes with speaker requests, I actually know stuff on public speaking. In 2021, the BBC interviewed me live to comment on the Tokyo Olympic Female Skateboarding event. Before that, I ran a YouTube channel (86k subs, 14 mil views), where I had to keep my audience engaged through vlogs, lives, and anything to keep people watching. Turns out that making finance speakers exciting isn’t that different from making skateboarding content: it’s all about knowing your audience and keeping them hooked.
Next year, I want to bring in even bigger names, better discussions, and events that people look forward to, not just for the free pizza. If you want a VP who knows how to find great speakers AND make them want to come back, VOTE FOR ME!
If you had invested just $1,000 in NVIDIA in 2003, you’d have over $600,000 today. Wise investments pay off, and- through my 3-pillar strategy below- I hope you see that voting for me is one of them.
-
Expand the Finance Conference
The finance conference is our flagship event, but we can take it to new heights. By securing high-profile speakers from IBD to AM to PE, we’ll provide members with invaluable insights and networking opportunities, making it a must-attend event; a direct pipeline to industry leaders and career opportunities.
-
Grow Our £10k Investment Portfolio
My goal is to expand our current £10k portfolio by diversifying asset classes and introducing a structured investment strategy. We’ll analyze idiosyncratic opportunities in equities and ETFs, ensuring members gain exposure to real-world portfolio management. By involving students in decision-making through an investment committee, we’ll create an environment where learning meets capturing alpha.
-
Strengthen Mentorship
I will organize tailored events for first, second and third year students, addressing the specific challenges and opportunities at each stage. This approach ensures that every member receives relevant, impactful experiences. Additionally, we’ll organize exclusive career development sessions covering CV building, technical interview prep, and networking strategies.
To make this possible, your vote is crucial. Together, let’s make our Investment Society the best it can be. I value your
