As an avid attendee of Investment Society, I've noticed first-hand how valuable the community created has been. So, my goal? To make our content more engaging, accessible, and impactful for you.
Hi everyone, my name is Aditi and I'm running for the Marketing VP position at UCLIS. Here's what I propose:
- Finance, but make it exciting – Releasing engaging, creative content that keeps you both informed and inspired.
- Expand our reach – More visibility = more opportunities, so more networking and career insights for everyone.
- Guidance for the uncertain – Whether you're unsure about career paths or have your trajectory locked in, I’ll ensure that we shape our marketing to highlight opportunities, advice, and success stories to help you navigate your future.
- You Speak, We Listen – Be it career advice, or interactive content, I can guarantee that our marketing will reflect your interests.
I know the impact our Investment Society can have, from engaging with its sessions featuring industry professionals to attending its highly coveted Finance Conference. Now, I believe now is the time to give back and help grow our community.
Vote Aditi and let's take UCL Investment Society's marketing to the next level!
I am standing for this position because I am both enthusiastic about the role and confident that my skills shall benefit the society. I am indeed keen to take active part in mind‑opening finance events such as the society’s annual conference.
Actively participating in finance organisations has been a serious endeavour for me over the past year, both during my internship last summer and now as a part‑time employee at Mirova, an investment fund within Natixis (€1trn AUM). My work there involves frequent meetings with marketing and communication experts to refine my department’s communication strategy, which I coordinate alongside my manager. They provide direct feedback on the formatting of the documents I produce—newsletters, strategy briefings for internal teams, and presentations for clients, partners, and directors—thereby honing precisely the marketing skills required for this committee position.
Interacting with my colleagues has also taught me to identify which events and communication strategies merit the greatest focus. For example, in promoting our research internally, we redirected our efforts away from newsletters people never read in favour of lunchtime fireside chats led by the researchers in the common room. Bringing that same attention not only to the quality of the content we communicate at the society but also to the judicious use of resources is how I believe I can make a meaningful contribution to the committee.
If you happen to be in the Business Society whatsapp groupchat, you’ll know just how passionate I am about marketing!
Two reasons to vote for me: 1) I have direct experience and 2) I am super adaptable
1 - Direct experience - I was Bizsoc’s passionate marketer for the 2024/25 academic year, Canva warrior, Whatsapp and Instagram responder in record time. It was comical. I also know how to lead/manage a team - I did just that with my executives and FYR.
2 - Adaptability - I’ve made posts 2 months in advance, 2 weeks in advance, and 2 hours in advance before posting for Bizsoc (we all know emergencies/miscommunications happen at one point or another, and I dealt with it easily). When issues come up, I respond and adapt so fast, you’d have no idea there were any in the first place.
If you had invested just $1,000 in NVIDIA in 2003, you’d have over $600,000 today. Wise investments pay off, and- through my 3-pillar strategy below- I hope you see that voting for me is one of them.
-
Expand the Finance Conference
The finance conference is our flagship event, but we can take it to new heights. By securing high-profile speakers from IBD to AM to PE, we’ll provide members with invaluable insights and networking opportunities, making it a must-attend event; a direct pipeline to industry leaders and career opportunities.
-
Grow Our £10k Investment Portfolio
My goal is to expand our current £10k portfolio by diversifying asset classes and introducing a structured investment strategy. We’ll analyze idiosyncratic opportunities in equities and ETFs, ensuring members gain exposure to real-world portfolio management. By involving students in decision-making through an investment committee, we’ll create an environment where learning meets capturing alpha.
-
Strengthen Mentorship
I will organize tailored events for first, second and third year students, addressing the specific challenges and opportunities at each stage. This approach ensures that every member receives relevant, impactful experiences. Additionally, we’ll organize exclusive career development sessions covering CV building, technical interview prep, and networking strategies.
To make this possible, your vote is crucial. Together, let’s make our Investment Society the best it can be. I value your
