Having thoroughly enjoyed my role as Executive this year, I’m standing for VP of Client Relations to build on the sponsor relationships we’ve brokered.
Through my keen interest in finance and roles in UCLWINF and Marshall Finance Group, I’ve strengthened my leadership, communication, and collaboration skills – essential for brokering and managing sponsorships. Building on this, my equity financing internship, where I engaged with potential investors, further developed my ability to navigate stakeholder relationships and secure partnerships. Combined with my experience in Client Relations, I’ve gained valuable insight into how to strengthen our sponsorship strategy next year.
As VP of Client Relations, I want to implement the following 3 initiatives:
- Sponsorship Networking Events:
Dedicated opportunities for past and present sponsors to connect with UCLIS and each other through a combined sponsor networking event, strengthening foundations for long-term relationships.
- More Personalized Sponsor Engagement:
Tailored sponsorship updates showcasing ROI (e.g., event metrics, attendee feedback) to improve sponsor retention.
- Stronger Handover Process for Long-Term Client Relations:
A structured handover document detailing key client interactions, preferences, and past deal details.
These initiatives will create a longer-term focused Client Relations team, improving sponsor retention.
I’m excited to build on our progress and strengthen UCLIS’ presence in the finance community.
Hi everyone,
My name is Nick, I'm currently a second year in Statistics, Economics and Finance and I’m excited to run for VP of Client Relations.
As Treasurer & Events Coordinator at UCL VietSoc, I secured sponsorships and organized large-scale events, including an inter-university gathering with 200+ attendees. Managing sponsorships of over £1000 and fostering partnerships showcased my ability to build strong relationships and execute high-impact initiatives—key skills for expanding UCL Investment Society’s corporate network.
My vision is to build long-term industry partnerships, secure more sponsorships, and create tailored networking and recruitment opportunities that directly benefit our members. Beyond event coordination, my equity research internship experience at an investment management firm has deepened my understanding of financial markets and corporate partnerships. This enables me to strategically identify and cultivate relationships that drive valuable collaborations. My ability to engage stakeholders and maintain industry connections will be instrumental in unlocking sponsorships, networking events, and career opportunities for our members.
I’m committed to making UCL Investment Society a stronger bridge between students and the investment world by expanding our network and unlocking new opportunities!
If you had invested just $1,000 in NVIDIA in 2003, you’d have over $600,000 today. Wise investments pay off, and- through my 3-pillar strategy below- I hope you see that voting for me is one of them.
-
Expand the Finance Conference
The finance conference is our flagship event, but we can take it to new heights. By securing high-profile speakers from IBD to AM to PE, we’ll provide members with invaluable insights and networking opportunities, making it a must-attend event; a direct pipeline to industry leaders and career opportunities.
-
Grow Our £10k Investment Portfolio
My goal is to expand our current £10k portfolio by diversifying asset classes and introducing a structured investment strategy. We’ll analyze idiosyncratic opportunities in equities and ETFs, ensuring members gain exposure to real-world portfolio management. By involving students in decision-making through an investment committee, we’ll create an environment where learning meets capturing alpha.
-
Strengthen Mentorship
I will organize tailored events for first, second and third year students, addressing the specific challenges and opportunities at each stage. This approach ensures that every member receives relevant, impactful experiences. Additionally, we’ll organize exclusive career development sessions covering CV building, technical interview prep, and networking strategies.
To make this possible, your vote is crucial. Together, let’s make our Investment Society the best it can be. I value your
