Nayan Chopra

Hi, I’m Nayan, a first-year student studying Statistics, Economics, and Finance.
I believe that a strong alumni network is one of the most valuable assets a society can possess and is crucial for fostering solid external relationships, providing members with real-world exposure and career opportunities. As Vice President of Alumni Relations, I will ensure that we establish meaningful, lasting connections between past and present members, creating opportunities that benefit all involved.
Having managed teams and cultivated networks across various environments—from sports to the military—I recognise the importance of nurturing strong relationships and appreciate the role that experienced professionals play in our understanding of the working world. They offer mentorship, and there is much we as students can learn from their insights and experiences.
To strengthen alumni connections, I will organise networking dinners, exclusive mentorship programmes, and speaker events featuring distinguished alumni. My aim is to develop a platform that connects students with alumni in their chosen industries, facilitating job referrals, career guidance, and long-term mentorship opportunities.
I will ensure that our alumni are more than just former members—they will be a resource, opening doors and guiding the next generation of investment professionals at UCL. A strong alumni network isn’t merely an asset—it’s a legacy, and I will ensure it thrives.

Mandheep Dasi

Hi everyone!

I’m Mandheep, and I’m excited to run for Vice President of Alumni Relations. Having co-founded the Economics and Finance Society at school, I’ve gained first-hand experience in securing sponsorships and building relationships with alumni and external partners. I’ve successfully negotiated agreements between alumni, successfully inviting 10 speakers from a variety of finance related jobs to my school, and organisations, which gave me the confidence to engage with industry professionals and get them involved. I believe these skills make me well-suited to expand our alumni network and create valuable opportunities for our members.

My Goals

  • Increase Alumni Engagement – I’ll proactively reach out to alumni across investment banking, asset management, and private equity, inviting them to speak at events, host networking sessions, and mentor students.
  • Exclusive Networking Opportunities – I’ll organise smaller, high-impact events like alumni dinners, private coffee chats, and panel discussions, giving you direct access to professionals.
  • Formal Mentorship Programme – I’ll establish a structured mentorship pipeline, pairing members with alumni based on career interests to guide them through applications and interviews.

I’m confident that my ability to build and maintain professional relationships will unlock more career opportunities for our members. Thank you for considering my application.

Sophia (Yizhuo) Liu

Hello, I'm Sophia and I’m here to apply for Alumni Relations role at UCL Investment Society committee.

With prior experience of organising talks and events at high school, I’m ready to bring a powerful line-up of alumni speakers to our events. I hope to act as your LinkedIn connector, but with fewer awkward connection requests. From “Why XXX Firm?” to “What I wish I knew before my Morgan Stanley internship,” these talks and session will hopefully be extremely informative, inspiring, and occasionally hilarious.

I also aim to organize 'coffee chat sessions' (or something stronger, depending on how their day went) where you can have close-up conversations rather than listening in huge lecture halls. I personally have benefitted loads from knowing alumni in the field, so I understand the importance of getting career advice from someone who’s been in your shoes, survived the internship grind, and lived to tell the tale. These sessions will be your secret weapon for acing applications, interviews, and life in general.

If you're excited for more of this, please vote for me. Thank you!

Jai Vasandani

If you had invested just $1,000 in NVIDIA in 2003, you’d have over $600,000 today. Wise investments pay off, and- through my 3-pillar strategy below- I hope you see that voting for me is one of them.

  1. Expand the Finance Conference

The finance conference is our flagship event, but we can take it to new heights. By securing high-profile speakers from IBD to AM to PE, we’ll provide members with invaluable insights and networking opportunities, making it a must-attend event; a direct pipeline to industry leaders and career opportunities.

  2. Grow Our £10k Investment Portfolio

My goal is to expand our current £10k portfolio by diversifying asset classes and introducing a structured investment strategy. We’ll analyze idiosyncratic opportunities in equities and ETFs, ensuring members gain exposure to real-world portfolio management. By involving students in decision-making through an investment committee, we’ll create an environment where learning meets capturing alpha.

  3. Strengthen Mentorship

I will organize tailored events for first, second and third year students, addressing the specific challenges and opportunities at each stage. This approach ensures that every member receives relevant, impactful experiences. Additionally, we’ll organize exclusive career development sessions covering CV building, technical interview prep, and networking strategies.

To make this possible, your vote is crucial. Together, let’s make our Investment Society the best it can be. I value your

Mueez Lodhi

I am eager to become the Alumni Relations Officer for the Investment Society because I believe a strong alumni network is essential for providing mentorship, career opportunities, and industry insights to current members. With my proactive approach and commitment to building lasting connections, I will organize engaging networking events, establish structured communication channels, and leverage alumni expertise to benefit our society. My goal is to create a sustainable alumni network that fosters long-term success for both past and present members, strengthening our society’s reputation and opportunities.

Rohith Muthuvelu

Hello everyone, I am Rohith, and I am very excited to stand for VP of Alumni Relations.

This role is far more than utilising past scholars for talks. Rather, it serves to generate a unified community where past and present members maintain longstanding loyalties to each other.

A strong Alumni Network is invaluable. In such a competitive industry, any support – be it internship opportunities, insightful advice, or enthusiastic conversation – must be embraced. Thus, relationships must first be built and sustained, starting from us, my core priority.

To achieve this, I intend to formalise our Alumni Setup. By creating an organisation, for instance, "UCL Association of Investment Scholars (UCLAIS)," pride in and repute for the society will increase, encouraging past members’ support. I guarantee my commitment in organising Alumni speaker events, networking socials, and informal dinners – promoting ourselves beyond academic conferences to facilitate deeper relationships. Moreover, I will pursue Alumni Sponsorships, developing concrete alliances over which opportunities can be extracted.

Ultimately, I promote longstanding loyalty to UCLInvest, inspiring current members to help future members too – a desirable legacy. With the help of the entire Committee, I know we can thrive together. Thank you for reading!
