International Relations Society: Social Media Director

As Director of Academic Events for the International Relations Society this year, I hosted successful events such as the Kosovan Embassy visit, the collaborative Italian Embassy visit, the talk from MP Naz Shah, and various social events like the "Committee Cooks for You" and our games nights.
As Social Media Manager, I will work to expand our collaborations with embassies, policymakers, and academics to provide members with even more unique networking and learning opportunities. I also want to foster a stronger sense of community through innovative social events that bring people together beyond formal discussions. I will leverage the connections I forged with ambassadors, MPs, and politicians to work on events that create career opportunities and meaningful connections for our members. 

My plan as Social Media Manager inlcude:
* Leveraging my connections in UK Parliament to invite government ministers
* Using my connections gained with embassies to invite foreign prime ministers
* Listen to member feedback and create events relevant to our community
* Create a flourishting society where students can learn about international relations through first hand experiences
* Focus on more social events like field trips, games nights, and art nights through social media
* Be receptive; create events that you want to see! 

My experience in planning and executing successful events has given me insight into what makes our society thrive.

Experience and Skills:

• As the Creative Director of my school's newspaper, I directed the design and produced all the graphics for the paper, which made me well-versed in creative direction and generating ideal social media posts for IR society.
• Knowledgeable in using Canva and Adobe software; I can create posts with the brand theme and superb design we expect of IR society.
• I am chronically online and will be available to make posts at all times and ensure the social media pages are up-to-date with our latest events and information.
• As a Politics and International Relations student, I can write post captions with gravitas!

Why me for IR Society Social Media Director?

The International Relations society is one of the top IR societies at UCL, and being able to use my creative flair to support it would be a great honour. I believe I can utilise our social media to show off the society and bring members to our events with quick response, post design, and my networking skills. With a keen interest in international relations, I can give back for all the events I have attended with this society.

I believe my skills can assist the IR society in bringing a comprehensive social media plan with cohesive posting across platforms with a style recognisable by many at UCL. I am a PIR student interested in conflict and political polarisation. I am a connoisseur of Sanrio (Pompompurin; my baby is my fav) and enjoy a range of music; rep Mayhem Lady Gaga's new album :) I hope you can vote for me :3 !!
