I’m excited about the opportunity to be your Social Secretary for Indian society. I’m passionate about creating a vibrant, inclusive, and engaging social environment where every member feels connected, valued, and excited to participate. As Social Secretary, my main priority will be organizing events that bring our community together. I will focus on a wide range of events—social gatherings and cultural celebrations as well as casual meetups. My goal is to ensure that there’s always something fun and exciting happening for our members to look forward to. I have organised parties and think that this experience could also help me. I will bring good energy and vibes to every event.
I am running for Social Secretary because I am passionate about bringing people together and creating unforgettable experiences that celebrate our rich culture. UCL's Indian Society has been a huge part of my 1st year university experience, and I want to ensure that our social events continue to foster a sense of belonging, excitement, and inclusivity for everyone.
If elected, I’ll focus on making our events even more engaging, ensuring there’s something for everyone. From our club nights and cultural celebrations to more casual meet-ups, I want to create a mix of events that suit different interests. I also want to introduce more interactive socials where members can connect - whether that’s through games nights, movie screenings, or collaborations with other societies.
I have experience organising events and know the importance of planning, teamwork, and keeping things running smoothly on the day. I’m approachable, open to new ideas, and committed to making sure every event is well thought out and enjoyable for everyone.
Indian Society is more than just a society - it's a vibrant family. As Social Secretary, I will bring energy, enthusiasm, and dedication to making every social event an unforgettable one. Let’s make this year the best yet - vote for me!
Firstly I am really passionate about Indian culture - the food, movies, songs, and I've participated in many Indian cultural events and performances since being a child. Although Indian culture isn't something I was born into, it is something I've grown up around constantly having Indian friends and family, and my culture shares many similarities - at the end of the day I believe brown is BROWN and Indian society runs on brown vibes - which I think I am. The reason I am applying for a committee position is because I really like how close the committee are - they're almost like a big brown family themselves which I love - also I think I'm a person who's quite easy to get along with.
I really appreciate how much hard work the committee put into events, socials etc - because I realise its not easy at all and I am fully committed to dedicating time and work to help out with this - I would genuinely really enjoy it - as organisation and planning are some of my strengths.
I am applying for social secretary as I enjoy planning events (and I have previous experience doing so) - liaising with the different parties involved, considering food/drinks/music/budget/dates/entertainment etc - I feel like I know what the people want and love (I already have a few ideas in mind on how to improve last year's events slightly from talking to people). Also - one of my biggest strengths is social media - trust I can come up with some innovative tiktok ideas to promote the Indian events if you let me.
Hi! I am Aditi. I am currently a first-year law student and I have been born and raised in New Delhi. - Organizing member of the biggest law school sports fest in India (Communicated with 40+ universities).

Here are some of my new proposals:
- Making the Indian Society families more prominent with timely check-ins and more chill events like game nights and movie nights.

- Many more collaborations with other societies and other universities.

From the moment I joined, I’ve loved the energy and sense of community within this society. Now, I want to give back by helping create unforgettable events that bring us all together. If elected, I’ll ensure that every event is well-organized, inclusive, and an experience to remember.
I’m especially excited to organise events such as Dhamaal Jashn, some of the biggest and most anticipated events of the year. I want to make it bigger and better, ensuring that everyone, whether a fresher or final-year student, feels welcome to join in the fun. Beyond Dhamaal, I’d love to help run a diverse range of events, from club nights and game nights to chill socials, ensuring there’s something for everyone.

I am standing for Social Secretary because I want to help create exciting, well-organised, and inclusive events that bring Indian Society members together. Socials are at the heart of any student society, and I am eager to contribute by planning and delivering events that strengthen our sense of community while ensuring everyone has a great time.
With five years of experience as a cadet in the RAF, I have developed excellent organisational, teamwork, and leadership skills. I am used to coordinating groups, managing logistics, and ensuring that events run smoothly—skills that will be invaluable in supporting the Head of Socials with planning major events like Dhamaal and Jashn, as well as regular socials for the committee. Additionally, my experience with UCL’s badminton society has given me hands-on experience in managing events and working closely with teams to ensure successful execution.
Beyond event planning, I am keen to collaborate with the sales and marketing team to promote socials effectively across all platforms. I understand the importance of engagement and visibility, and I will ensure that events receive the promotion they need by coordinating sharing schedules with committee members.
As I will be stepping away from cadets in September, I will have the time and commitment to fully dedicate myself to this role. My goal is to bring fresh ideas to Indian Society’s socials, making them engaging, well-attended, and memorable for all members.

My experience running two businesses—one in the culinary space and another in teaching—has equipped me with strong event planning, organizational, and communication skills. These experiences have taught me how to create engaging and memorable events that bring people together.
As Social Secretary, I will:

- **Enhance Engagement:** Plan a variety of social activities, from cultural festivals to casual meet-ups, that encourage interaction and build lasting friendships.
- **Support Integration:** Provide opportunities for members to connect with the broader university community, helping them feel more at home in the UK.
With my passion for fostering connections and my experience in event planning, I am confident in my ability to serve as an effective Social Secretary for the Indian Society. Hi! I'm Roshni, a first year Biology student and I'm applying for Indian Society's social secretary!
I believe I am creative and organised - I've previously helped plan events at my local library for children, so they can be more interested in returning and reading. I’ll also work closely with the committee and other societies to expand our events and build a stronger community.
Some ideas I can help create:
- UCL Bazaar - a fair with stalls selling Indian street food, henna artists on site and live music with performances from Indian Dance Society
- Inter-uni sports day - Kabbadi, Kho and Cricket can be played in competition with other universities with prizes to win at the end
