I'm standing for Welfare Secretary because I want to help keep the Ice Club a welcoming, supportive space for everyone. University can be overwhelming at times, and I know how important it is to have a community where you feel comfortable and included. I want to make sure that every member feels welcome, valued, and able to enjoy the club to the fullest.

It’s important to me that everyone feels safe and respected at training sessions and socials. With that I also want to ensure that our events cater to all members by planning a variety of socials where everyone feels included and able to take part in a way that suits them. Alongside being there to listen to any concerns, I would love to highlight and celebrate the diversity of the society.

I would also work to create an open space where members feel comfortable seeking support. I aim to implement initiatives such as working with the committee to organise socials that provide regular check-ins, mental health awareness campaigns, and making resources easily available to support members. Ultimately I want to encourage open conversations about student welfare and mental health, whether for personal challenges or simply adjusting to the society environment.

Having joined Ice Club late this year, I've been amazed at how welcoming and friendly the club has been. A sports team this supportive and accessible is something very special. I'm putting myself forward this year for the welfare secretary role so I can contribute to and improve the environment in the club, building on these foundations.

I enjoy people facing roles and have relished being student rep for my programme this year. I would like to continue being someone approachable and provide help and advice to people interested in or already part of ice club, and to find out what could be better and what works already. I'm also keen to work with UCLSU on accessibility and inclusion initiatives, by helping with organising events and applying other relevant strategies to build an inclusive environment.

I would be honoured to serve as Welfare Secretary for the ICE Club because inclusivity isn’t just something I believe in, it’s who I am. I go out of my way to make sure that absolutely everyone, no matter their background, beliefs, or experiences, feels genuinely welcome, valued, and heard. My kindness knows no limits, and I approach every situation with patience, understanding, and an open heart. No one should ever feel like they don’t belong, and I will make it my mission to ensure that every single person in our club feels supported, safe, and appreciated, always.
