Hockey Club (RUMS Women's): Welfare Secretary

I am applying for the position of Welfare Secretary because I am really passionate about making our club a safe and welcoming space for everyone. My experience within the club has given me insight into the support structures we need to maintain (like the buddy/family system) and some we could introduce, and I am eager to contribute to ensuring that every member feels valued and supported.

As an approachable and friendly face, I hope you all would be comfortable with coming to me with any concerns, whether they are related to life, hockey or medical school, so I can lend an ear or point you in the right direction for support and help. I have some ideas for promoting well-being in the club including team check-ins, having accessible welfare resources, and doing more social events to strengthen our sense of community. I would like to have even more of an emphasis on inclusion and celebrating diversity within the club, collaborating with all of you to create clear goals for the club to make us as inclusive as possible.

In conclusion, if elected, I will prioritise mental health awareness, encourage open conversations, and ensure that every player has someone to turn to when they need guidance or support. I believe my experience, empathy, and commitment make me well-suited for this role. I would be grateful for the opportunity to give back to a club that has given me so much since I joined UCL.
