Dear Hedge Fund Society Members,
I’m Edwin To, President of UCL Economics & Finance Society and a penultimate-year Economics student. With a track record of expanding EFS from 400 to over 1,100 members and securing a sixfold increase in sponsorship, I have demonstrated my ability to scale societies, foster engagement, and deliver high-impact events. Now, I am eager to bring this expertise to the Hedge Fund Society, elevating it into the premier platform for mastering hedge fund strategies, refining stock-picking skills, and developing technical expertise.
If elected, I will implement a structured agenda focused on:
✅ Advanced Training Workshops – Deep dives into hedge fund strategies, risk management, and market inefficiencies.
✅ More Pitching Opportunities – Regular stock pitch competitions and portfolio simulations to refine investment theses.
✅ Mentorship & Networking – Access to industry professionals and senior students to provide career guidance and technical coaching.
I am committed to fostering a dynamic, intellectually stimulating environment where members can thrive and gain real-world investing insights.
Thank you for your time and support.

Hi, I’m Anthony, and I would love to be your President next year.
Since joining UCL, I have been deeply involved in the Hedge Fund Society, first as a Quantitative Strategies Analyst, then as a representative in the UCL Equity Research Competition, where we secured 1st place. I was later promoted to Director of Equity Research, leading our team in a $7,500 international competition, an opportunity I hope to extend to more members through termly inter-society competitions.
As President, I want to expand accessibility and hands-on learning. I will introduce a Hedge Fund Society Boot Camp, giving members at all levels the skills to write high-quality reports, directly applicable to internship interviews and assessment centres. I will also develop the 1st & 2nd-year analyst programmes, ensuring members gain a strong understanding of hedge funds and develop valuable technical skills.
I will launch an Equity Research Journal to publish top research reports, giving students exposure to industry professionals and recruiters. I will also introduce termly long-short portfolio competitions surrounding major events, allowing members to refine trading, risk management, and portfolio allocation skills in a competitive setting.
I am committed to making our society UCL’s largest and most impactful finance society, ensuring that every member has access to the opportunities that shaped my own journey. I would be incredibly grateful for your vote.
