Uni life can be amazing, but it also comes with challenges. That’s why I believe societies should be more than just social spaces, they should be communities where everyone feels welcome, supported, and valued. As GeogSoc’s Welfare Officer, I’d make sure that wellbeing and inclusivity aren’t just add-ons but central to everything we do.

Having lived abroad for the past few years, I’ve met people from so many different backgrounds and experiences, which has really opened up my perspectives. UCL’s international and diverse community is something I love, and I want to make sure that everyone in GeogSoc feels like they belong. I’m a naturally friendly and approachable person, always happy to listen, chat, and offer support. But I also strongly believe in standing up for what’s right and I’m not afraid to speak up when something needs to change.

Wellbeing isn’t just about running events (though I’d love to bring new ideas for things like Mental Health Day!). It’s also about making sure every GeogSoc event, academic or social, is truly open to all, and that people feel heard when they raise concerns.

I know from personal experience how important it is to have a strong support network at university, and I want to help build that within GeogSoc. If elected, I’ll be committed to making sure this society remains an inclusive, safe, and welcoming space where no one is afraid to speak up.
