FinTech Society: Treasurer

Hey Everyone,

I'm standing for Treasurer as I want to give back to this society and contribute to its growth. This year, I've been working hard to help make that a reality – not only as Outreach Executive, but through being in charge of great events like Finance Night with a variety of other finance societies and the entertaining Poker Tournament to promote fintech. It is great to see that these events have been able to bring in new members, making fintech more engaging and accessible and raising our society's profile.

I have experience working with UCL Student Union from organizing and managing Poker Society, from event planning to investment in new equipment. This has given a good understanding of student's union organisation and finance structure. 

Moreover, I interned for 12 weeks last summer with KPMG's Audit Digital Innovation team, and I was able to fully dive into the vibrant world of fintech and how it is transforming the finance industry. It was a great experience that allowed me to gain so many valuable insights into new finance technologies and allowed me to form some great industry connections, which I'm really excited to share with the society. I'm hopefully able to leverage the connections I formed there to find new sponsorships, partnerships, and career opportunities for our members. This will allow me to continue to see the society grow and give more to students.

I am Sohan, and I am excited to stand for Treasurer of the UCL FinTech Society. Having served as a Client Relations Executive in my first year, I have seen first-hand the society's vision, growth, and reach, and I would be more than happy to contribute further to its future success. I am a FinTech enthusiast and dedicated to making the society financially capable enough to keep developing. As a representative, I will be accurate, accountable, and strategically minded in the office of Treasurer, helping UCL FinTech to sustain its success in the future.
