Filipino Society: Publicity and Marketing Officer

I think this role goes beyond posting for social media, what's the point in spending so much time editing if you aren't smart with who's engaging? Why post so much if you don't have the charisma to appeal to the masses? The pinoy pride deserves to be represented properly throughout our accounts, which is why I'd be perfect as your next Publicity & Marketing Officer! 

Whether those who are unfamiliar with our heritage or Filipino-Brits who feel as if they don't see enough people like them on their feed, I will introduce our traditions publicly through adapting to the latest trends and challenges that I will involve committee more in (I'm very capable doing as a chronically online person). Moreover, I'll be consistent in posting promotional content for upcoming events as well as capturing the highlights whilst they take place, I won't miss a single funny or wholesome memory!

Filsoc will get an upgrade in media quality with my experience in advanced softwares like Adobe After Effects+Photoshop, and easier ones like iMovie+Capcut since I was 11 years old that have come to use as a 1st year in Anthropology, I'm currently working on a documentary film using a Canon x11. This extends to societies, as I even helped Filsoc members and commitee with post/editing ideas as well as made VCRs+projections for the InterUni Kpop showcase I'm apart of! I’m Yza, a first year history student :) The moment I joined Filsoc in September it felt like a warm welcoming hug at a time of chaos. It provided me with a sense of comfort knowing that I was in a community where we all were one big family; and because of that I’m devoted to giving back to the community! 

So why vote for me?  I have a strong work ethic when it comes to creative tasks - I truly love the art of designing and creating both digitally and physically. Digitally, I enjoy making videos from short form to cinematic content. I’ve edited videos from a young age (I started with slime tutorials lol) and since then I’ve familiarised myself with editing tools. Physically, I lOove scrapbooking - curating the layout of a page and layering pieces upon pieces is an art I love endlessly as it enables me to express my creativity. Oh! Also I’m a certified doom-scroller so I’m always up to date with the newest trends, assuring our content stays engaging. I strongly believe that my passion for creative tasks will excel when it comes to curating publicity for Filsoc - my primary goal is to create content to the utmost standard to attract and cultivate a strong sense of community which welcomes everyone regardless of differences and cultures. If given the opportunity, I promise to bring new, exciting ideas while staying open to feedback and growth.
