Fencing Club: Social Secretary

Hi I'm Serena and I'm in second year going into 3rd year, and would love to help contribute more to the UCL Fencing Club as Social Secretary.

I joined the club at the start of 2024, and have enjoyed every moment since, both within the Salle and outside. I understand that social events are an important part of the welcoming atmosphere the club maintains, both for those starting the sport for the first time, and for experienced members joining the club.

I therefore wish to ensure that the club continues to host many social activities, and I would plan to establish regular events such as movie nights and board game evenings. I also intend to make sure that sports night at Phineas remains a frequent event.

Furthermore, I have experience working within a team of a UCL society, and I am currently the Communications Officer for the Nature and Conservation Society, where I promote events as well as discuss and collaborate with other committee members. 
From this role I also have extensive skills in that of handling a society's Instagram and webpages, including creating posts and replying to inquires. I hence wish that I can use these skills in continuing to ensure the Instagram keeps its current excellence, as well as regularly updating the WhatsApp to keep everyone informed of upcoming events.

I therefore hope, given my previous experience, that my skills may be of use in the UCL Fencing Club, and I would work to ensure that the society remains an enjoyable space for all!
