I discovered fencing during my master’s and have loved it ever since—no surprise it was one of the first clubs I joined at UCL. Now, I’d love the opportunity to lead the club as president and help it grow while keeping it an inclusive, welcoming, and supportive space for everyone.
Sport has always been a huge part of my life, and I truly believe in its positive impact on both physical and mental well-being. Fencing, like all sport, should be a space where everyone can stay active, challenge themselves, and feel good—both on and off the piste.
I’m incredibly hardworking, organised, and adaptable—balancing my PhD, solo travel, and independent living has taught me how to manage multiple responsibilities, stay disciplined, and work well with different people. I’ve developed a proactive and reliable approach to challenges, which I know will help me in a role that requires teamwork, planning, and decision-making.
Over the past few months, I’ve also been the Diversity Rep, which has given me insight into how we can make the club more inclusive, accessible, and enjoyable for all members. As president, I want to build on this by maintaining traditions while introducing fresh ideas for training, wellness initiatives, and inclusive social events. My goal is to ensure that all members, from beginners to competitors, feel supported and have the best experience possible in the club.
