Hiya! I am running to be a candidate for next year’s Events Committee and am very excited about all the opportunities for EISPS society that are to continue! I thoroughly enjoyed participating in the society’s events this year, from the Freshers week pub quiz to Embassy visits and Film screenings, and they have been an important part of my first year Uni experience. For this reason, I would like to get involved in organizing events for the society and facilitate more connections throughout UCL and London!
Society events give us all a chance to socialize beyond a formal academic setting, and bond over our (very) varied range of interests!! I think there are many ways to include an even wider variety of events in next year’s social calendar, focusing both on academic and career focused, as well as cultural and creative experiences.
I enjoy participating in and attending events across the city related to social, political, and cultural interests and would love to connect the UCL community within our course to more of what London has to offer too. Whilst this would be my first leadership role, I believe I would be well suited through my commitment to getting more UCL members involved and maintaining such a vibrant, interdisciplinary society! I would be open to your suggestions on what events you would like to see and would strive to make the society as beneficial and exciting as possible for our EISPS community. Thank you for your support!

What makes a society worthwhile? For me, it would be the events, support, and sense of community provided. That is why I am running for Head of Events this year to build on the incredible opportunities available within the society and create a packed calendar for next year. I was fortunate enough this year to take part in a range of embassy visits, the model “North Sea Neighbours” conference as well as the “Entente Cordiale Challenge”, demonstrating my active participation in the society. My aim is to continue providing these opportunities but also expand the events horizon, bringing in more talks from EISPS alumni, discussions on current affairs with experts as well as talks from 4th years to 1st and 2nd years discussing the year abroad.
As a current 1st year, one of the events that really made me feel part of the department was the welcome party on the portico steps at the start of the year and this is something that I am very keen to continue and expand on, introducing these large, year group-wide events more frequently throughout the year.
Another of my core aims is to provide events tailored towards future careers that EISPS students would be interested in. Evening talks with career professionals would prove extremely insightful in helping us firstly choose a career path but then also the path that we could potentially follow to achieve this.
If you like the sound of even more events delving into the areas touched on above then make sure to vote for me!

The EISPS Society has greatly enriched my experience at UCL. Connecting with like-minded individuals and attending insightful events have reinforced my passion for the course and are often what remind me that the hard work of the degree is worth it. The positive experiences I have gained as a member have inspired me to run for this position, with the aim of helping the society continue to grow and thrive.
If elected as Head of Events, I would prioritise maintaining key events such as frequent guest speakers, embassy visits, and collaboration with other similar societies in order to introduce society members to invaluable networking opportunities Additionally, I would like to continue the more informal events, such as the EISPS breakfasts and pub quizzes, and explore new ideas like group study sessions to foster collaboration between society members and ease exam stress.
This year, I have already had the opportunity to collaborate with fellow members, such as for the Languages Show Live and the European Institute's ELM, which has given me valuable insight into the teamwork required for this role. I am excited about the possibility of continuing this involvement as Head of Events.
I am confident in my ability to work under pressure and manage the details required for executing successful events. Personal experience of events-related coordination over the past 2 years includes running weekly sixth form study sessions, leading society meetings, and being a speaker at events myself.

Hi everyone!
I'm first-year European Social and Political Studies student specialising in economics and German. Over the past months, I’ve had the chance to meet so many of you—curious, driven, and smart individuals who make this course truly special. This is what has motivated to run for Head of Events—to strengthen the ties in the ESPS community across all years.
As Head of Events, I hope to provide the EISPS community with diverse events ranging from pub socials to conferences. Although EISPS students don't specialise in the same subjects there is one thing that makes us EISPS-- our intellectual curiousity. That is what I hope to foster through my role as Head of Events by offering you conferences ranging on different subjects that we've had the opportunity to learn: politics, history, law, economics...
EISPS is more than just a course; it’s a community. I want to make sure we have both engaging academic events and unforgettable socials that bring us together !
I’d love to hear your thoughts, so feel free to reach out!
